It just wouldn't be a piece of Nintendo hardware without the launch of a Mario Kart game, and the 3DS is no exception: According to Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto speaking at a French press event, Mario Kart 3DS will be coming out in 2011. Not only that, Miyamoto also dropped a few details on the next Nintendo console, codenamed Project Cafe (or Wii 2.) According to Miyamoto, Nintendo has at least considered the idea of letting gamers use the 3DS as a controller for its next console.
We have very few concrete details on what we can expect from the game, but, if I know Nintendo, it will feature all the iconic characters you love from previous Mario Kart game and many of the same tracks from previous Mario Kart games. This is not a dig on Nintendo at all: Mario Kart is one of the most fun franchises of all time; it doesn't need to be improved at all.
