Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario will be making an appearance on the 3DS and the upcoming game will be using its two greatest titles(in my humble opinion) as inspiration. Shigeru Miyamoto told the attendees of a press event that the next Mario game for the 3DS will be a combination of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64. If you're going to look at past games to help shape your next title, these aren't bad choices. He went on to promise the game would be “completely original, and coming this year."

Super Mario 3DS was first announced at GDC with the promise we'd be able to see more at E3. Miyamoto confirmed we'd see more in just a few months, "It won’t convey the message if I talk to you today, but if you play it at E3 that will give you more understanding of what I’m talking about. For example, the floors floating in space: in 2D it’s difficult to judge the distance, but in 3D it’s really easy.”

I guess we'll have to wait 46 more days, not that I'm counting.
