Mass Effect 3 is the most anticipated game of 2011, according to me.
A brand new batch of details about the upcoming sci-fi RPG have appeared on the internet. The rumors, from an unnamed Spanish magazine, have not been confirmed by Bioware. Seems legit to me. Some of the information lays out how Cerberus and Shepard become enemies. Despite bringing you back to life in ME2, Cerberus is pissed and they will use mechas, assault units and shock troopers against you. According to the magazine, this takes place at the beginning of the game. Keep reading for more.
NEWS: Mass Effect 3 Details Revealed
Here's the list of details revealed in the magazine, from NeoGaf:
- The reason that Cerberus is against you is explained at the beginning of the adventure.
- Cerberus' troops include mechas, assault units, shock troops ninja-style.
- Reapers: they have different sizes, ranging from 500-600 meters of the smaller ships to the 2km for Herald.
- New skills for Shepard: launched in search of coverage to Max Payne, rolling, jumping small holes in the ground, as the SWAT turn and strike the enemy with greater variety of melee attacks. It specifically mentions "a new class: Heavy Melee" take advantage of these capabilities of combat.
- New skills: Engineer can build turrets.
- Customizable Weapons, guns, sight ... five variants in each section.
- More items to "loot."
- Space Battles? Perhaps, but unconfirmed.
- Scenarios: larger. We will see people walking, ships fighting, architecture in greater detail. Searching for the photorealism of the sites using new lighting techniques on the stage. It has also improved the atmosphere and the number of dynamic elements of the stage, increasing interactivity with the player.
- Locations to visit: New York, London, a moon of Koriano [Quarian] world, a Salarian world and Mars, among others. The development of each environment takes about 6 months, testing the levels from the outset.
- Enemies: we can do dynamic damage into them. The Cerberus mechas, for example, requires that we shoot a weak point, the glass cockpit in order to overcome them. In other enemies we can cut off the arms, break the head or break various pieces of their armors.
- Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game speed is improved by 10 to 15%.
- Exploration: we won't drive vehicles seen in previous games. The main gameplay is designed without them and will continue so. This does not mean that there is no vehicle, but they can't reveal more now. There is a new scanning system.

A lot of this sounds like elaboration on the Game Informer article. Would tend to agree with author that updates sound legit.

i want to know about garrus. he was my favorite in both games mostly cuz he was a smartass and a sniper and i liked grunt to.do we get to keep the characters that survived in ME2,like do they get carried over or somethin?
gtamaster503
Shepherd gets thrown in jail and months go by and his crews leave him.

what i want to know is what is happening with Miranda and Jacob since they are both Cerberus. I know that Jacob should be fine since he is loyal to those who fight the good fight but what about Miranda. This will make thing very interesting right from the start.

Space Battles?
With Reapers the size of 500 meters to 2km
I need a moment to myself
Sesslersprodigy
just say miranda will be in the game.

ok so.... all this info is reat but what i really care about is if Kasumi will be back to my team! i know she was a DLC character but she is my favorite in both games!!! also i read in bioware forums that Tali wont be on my team on ME3, thats a WTF for me.., Tali+Kasumi is my favorite setup!!, plus Tali was the one Shepard ended up with in every single time(8 times) i finished ME2!!
dookiemane12
Dang! My renegade Shepard wanted to continue working for Cerberus.

Between this and TESV:Skyrim, I may not leave my apartment unless it's to go to work or do laundry- and the laundry might be sacrificed...

Space battles? As if this isn't already going to be bad ass enough.
JRX75
better have good sex scenes...lolz

i might just be wird but i didn't think the mining in me2 was that bad. I mean it took like 5 minutes and i would have all the resorces i needed, its not like it was a hour long process

"New skills: Engineer can build turrets."
if we need to fix them, do we get to use a wrench?

detail damage on enemies sound cool, can't wait! ME3 FTW!

" shock troops ninja-style" !!
I want to be a ninja!! A ninja Assassin (tech. in ME2 Infiltrators could either be Operatives or Assassin's . . . you can guess which I picked). The first thing I thought of when I heard "Heavy Melee" was the Falcon Punch. This game is going to be an easy contender in GOTY.

Like most of what I'm reading if its all true.
Just not sure about looting. I wasn't one of the people bugged by that in 2 because honestly it just makes sense. This isn't fantasy/sci-fi its just pure sci-fi. There is that bit of modern too it. Not to mention your playing a trained team. If you were a military trained Commander you wouldn't take the time to loot, you'd carry on. It just doesn't fit and I think it would really break the immersion of the world and story.
Now if its the matter where you notice one of your downed enemies has an interesting looking weapon and you decide to quickly scan its modifications then ya that kind of "looting" makes sense. Or if its for quest purposes then I'm for it.
But the general form of looting? No. The first one you were backed by government and in 2 it was a secret organization. There is bound to be something similar in 3. You just don't need to get the "phat" loot to fund your adventures.

I like Weapons Customization!
Building Turrets will be interesting for Engineers.
I hope, "Cerberus' troops include mechas, assault units, shock troops ninja-style" had the 'ninja-style' added by someone's commentary because whenever I hear 'ninja' in any space setting I think of Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2's Cyborg Jedi's or whatever ones can cloak and you have to electrocute them to short circuit their cloaking device.
I don't know how I feel about having to shoot specific parts on like a mechas, I just want them to not live forever. I don't want to feel like I'm in a Final Fantasy Big Boss fight every time I go against a Mecha because I'm aiming for little glowing pieces of their body.
@"Fighting more dynamic, forcing us to move more frequently. The game speed is improved by 10 to 15%." - Wait... So The Video Game that is ME2 that FORCES you to take cover constantly because people fword? YOU UP So quickly in the open is now going to make you move around even more like a Jackrabbit?
So no Vehicles again, which is fine for me, I HATED the Firehammer or whatever it is called. Nothing like having a super jump car and when it's about to blow up your only warning is a high pitched buzz and fire you don't notice coming from the vehicle.
I don't know how I feel about visiting Earth though, especially the larger cities. It'll take some of the mystery away of how Earth adjusted to the new world.

Sweet. I hope the scanning system won't be as boring as the one on Mass Effect 2. Can't wait for this one to release.
Hitman_Mr.47
Already sounds like a stellar finale
