The Last Guardian Delayed...Again

Posted April 20, 2011 - By Leah Jackson

It's a very sad day for those of us that cling to every small detail regarding The Last Guardian, the Playstation 3 exclusive sequel to the epic Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, as it has once again been delayed until at least 2012. The news isn't too much of a surprise as theIco and Shadow of the Colossus HD collection was also pushed, but it still pains me to see the game facing constant delays one after the other ever since its 2009 announcement.

The game's director, Fumito Ueda, issued a statement to the fans, saying "To provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio’s obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing. All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality."

It's always nice to know that developers are taking their time to deliver the absolute best product to the people, but when it comes to The Last Guardian I get so upset whenever I hear about these delays. I was seriously under the impression that the game was going to be playable on the show floor at E3 this year and now my new theory is that this is going to straight up be a Playstation 4 launch title. Regardless, I just want to play with my hippogryph, goat, chicken, monster thing already!
