Since Wii 2 rumors started surfacing last week our imaginations have been working over time trying to imagine what it might look like. I can say, with a significant amount of shame, that my ideas weren't nearly as cool as the Wii 2 mock-ups dvice.com found. I'm down right embarrassed by my concept which combined the Atari 2600 with an iPod touch. Some of their designs combine a more classic controller with a touch screen or even a a touch screen on a wiimote. Keep reading to see my favorites.

It's pretty sad to see that these knock-off controllers look no where near realistic.

Here's a picture you might want to replace the 1st & 2nd pic with.:

I like the firsat and third ones. On the second one, the screen looks way to big and the congo drums should not be on the originla design.

There is no way i'm buying another Nintendo console until they prove it will be good and actually have games. The wii was cool for a while but never gets or got good games. and the 3ds is better played in 2d so its just another ds anyway. They need to prove their worth to me at least. And this sounds like a handheld and not a console so i wont need one anyway because i would better 300$ the NGP will be better even if it is a home console.(I'm a bettin' man!) Just my opinion.

Here's what I'd do with those controllers showcased above.
Take the touchscreen from the 4th controller & place it on the 1st controller, but center the screen like how its centered on the 2nd controller, instead of being at the bottom.
There should also be a raised guard around the screen for when our fingers accidentally slide off, so when don't touch the touchscreen by accident.
Take the Start, Select, & Home buttons from the 2nd controller & set 'em up accordingly to the description I've provided above.
Change the color scheme of the 1st controller into the original Red, White/Light Gray, Gray, & Black NES/Famicom colors.
[Controller is gray, thumbsticks are black, d-pad is light gray w|red arrows, ABXY buttons are white (w|the light blue font), shoulder & trigger buttons are red, & start-select-home buttons are as they are on the 2nd controller above]
On the 1st controller, swap the location of the ABXY buttons with the right thumbstick.
[This particular alteration differentiates itself from Sony's (thumbsticks at the bottom) & Microsoft's (staggered for right-handed) layout.]
On the 1st controller, split up the D-Pad at the center (like an X) into 4 separate buttons, but also add 4 separate diagonal-direction buttons - like a radial design - easy to slide your thumb.
On the 1st controller, make the thumbsticks concave (if they aren't already; I can't tell).
Take those air slits from the 4th controller & put 'em on their respective sides on the 1st controller.
----------
Or BASICALLY:
On the 4th controller, move the thumbsticks up a bit, get rid of those white buttons, and just add ABXY buttons (below the right thumbstick) & an individual-buttoned D-Pad (below the left thumbstick).
[And hopefully the shoulder & trigger buttons are already there]

lol G4 started the rumors and Nintendo already confirmed it dropped the price in response to the success of Kinect. A Wii 2 or HD Wii has been on the grapevine for a long time now since the fact that in 6 years the whole - hardly anyone has HD tvs - trend has changed. Controller 3 was my favorite. Although I don't think it's going to have a screen.

I can't see Nintendo ripping off the xbox controller like in #1,# 2 and #3 are just stupid, but #4 seems like something that Nintendo might just be crazy enough to use if those circles under the sticks are buttons. Actually, put some shoulder buttons on #4 and it might just be a good controller.

They do not except any outside influence, I know, I called them 3 years ago about some great new ideas. I also called Sony about making the different colored memory cards that could have different color patterns on them when you put a c.d. in the system. As most of you noticed, the PS1 had a cool color screen setup when you put a c.d. in the system, but the PS2 didn't have that. I discussed it with their THEN ceo, and obviously, Sony doesn't listen either. Go XBoX, I didn't even want to like Microsoft, but they proved themselves to be more than worthy.

in my opinion nintendo needs to stop with the whole wii mote crap and make a real console the 64, game cube . the wii is why i switched over to the 360. i dont wanna have to screw with the cencer bar and bein outa range and what not. they need to make real games again. a real game boy. and as for the controller with a screen.. all the feed back there goin to get from that is laughter thats it.. nintendo needs a whole new out look on there next system

I think the Wii 2 will complement the 3DS.

I think the Wii 2 will complement the 3DS, and not the other way around.

A screen on the controller seems stupid if you ask me. Their lastest Handheld isnt even good for what its purpose was meant to be, games on the 3DS look better 2D lol. But if nintendo is bent on giving us something new and inventive, I hope the screen is more used as a way to look at the in game menu as you play. So you can see what items you have without really having to pause the game in a sense of speaking.

I don't really care too much about what kind of controller it is, as long as it's classic. No more of this motion control gimmick. Let's just get back to the old hand-to-hand controller that we all loved. I've had enough 'Wii'. I would love to be back in the days of Gamecube or N64, even if they supposedly weren't that great. At least I could sit down in the dark really late at night and just game without exerting any real physical energy or making too much noise. It was great.

well thats not a fair match up obviously Project Hardcore takes the cake

What everyone needs to remember is, the PS3 and the 360 (and Wii) are going on 6 years old... that means their graphics are old and busted. The Wii 2 could very well put out better graphics than the big boys. That is, until the PS4/Xbox3 come out.
Technically, the Wii 2 could put out the same graphics as a PS3 or 360 and still be way out of date lol

I like how the first one is just the 360 remote with the keypad attached to it?
