Best Buy Adding Used Game Kiosks In Select Locations

Retail giant Best Buy is making a big play to become the number one retailer of video games, and that means a job opportunity for you, Reader. The company plans to hire dedicated gaming clerks to work at sales desks within their video game departments in fiscal year 2012. They are looking for "dedicated, informed, and engaged employees focused only on gaming," which sounds to me like a pretty primo job.

Calling it a "gaming transformation" as part of a "drive toward number one industry position," Best Buy laid out their plans in a presentation document obtained by Gamasutra and presented by senior VP Chris Homeister.

The new game pros from Best Buy will try to drive customers to preorder titles, purchase DLC, and man in-store gaming desks, which will "create the destination for trade, preorder and digital offers."

To make room for their new gaming desks and larger video game sections, Best Buy will take some space from the music department.

Best Buy is currently third in video games, behind GameStop and WalMart, but plans to turn that situation around, by (among other things) offering trade-in credit that can be used for any items in Best Buy.
