A lot of rumors circulated the Internet yesterday regarding a potential announcement of Nintendo's new console (aka Project Cafe) which people are brilliantly calling The Wii 2. All of the information came from anonymous sources and whatnot, so I'm not sure the rumors are to be believed yet. But regardless of if it exists or not, there surely is a new Nintendo home console coming out soon-ish, so what do you what neat features would you want it to have aside from boring things like HD and better games? Even further, what do you want it to look like?

NOW we can say hello to the Nintendo Revolution.

"The audience at E3 seemed unimpressed when Nintendo suddenly decided to show its Wiiwii."
Seriously, I think it should have a new kind of controller that is so accurate, so precise, so fast, so intuitive and easy to use that it will change the face of console gaming forever. They can call it "the mouse".

with the 3ds costing $250, i doubt a new console is going to cost equal or less then that. I bet we're looking at a $300-$350 console.

As long as its PS3/360 powerful and costs cheap (Nintendo is really good at making systems that don't break the bank in recent days). To me its all about the games, and the big N has the other 2 beat on that one. When ever a Mario, Zelda or Metroid game is released it is a big thing. Neither of the other 2 companies have the 1st party quality as Nintendo does. And I can't wait to play a true HD Metroid or Zelda or Mario. And not just the big 3 but Donkey Kong Country, Kid Icarus, Pikman, F-Zero and so on. And for 3rd party, this system needs to be as easy as possible to develop for and powerful enough so they can create the worlds they want without too much difficulty.
I don't want gimmicks, motion control is ok but it should just be an add on, not the reason for the system. Also they need to boost their online shop with more Virtual Console games/Original content. And to cut costs.
TBH there is no need for multi-media applications like Netflix, Blu-Ray player, Web Browser and so on. Almost everyone has a device that does these things, why do we need another. I just want a powerful unit that plays games. Just like the Gamecube. GAMES AND NOTHING ELSE. And no 3D gimmick BS either. And the games don't have to be full on mature themed either, As i know nintendo is famous for being kid friendly and thats fine. The games have to be good, gameplay wise.

It'll be interesting to see what they come out with. Specs wise. If it's actually next gen (better spec wise than the PS3 or 360), if it at least meets PS3 and 360 specs or if it still doesn't match up to them.

I dont see this as a big shock. We know the big tree are all working in new systems. I have predicted before we would see the either e3 2011 or 2012 and get them pry a year later. Sony may like the idea of 10 year systems but tech changes too fast for it.
WIDEANGLE
They could always call it "The Nintendo Revolution".

I don't think they are gonna call it "The Wii 2". Nintendo has never been into the numbers thing. Most likely go with a whole new name. All hail Nintendo's new console "The Us"!!!

give the games good graphics and I'm sold. That was the problem with the Wii and was the reason I didnt buy it.

I don't mind the whole Mii situation they have going for them, so carrying that over to the new system with a better social networking program in place would be nice. Wouldn't mind a camera built in for video chat along with a headset for online gaming.
NO and I repeat NO 3D involved please.
The games will be what they will be, the big N will need to work on fixing their reputation with gamers on that, they have a large dump full of shovel-ware to dig themselves out of.
Nintendo will always have a large slice of their priority dedicated to the younger audience compared to the two other systems and I don't blame them as their needs to be a market for that. So I don't suspect too much maturity out of them. As long as they stick to bringing back some retro. titles like they did with DK and Kirby there is a glimmer of hope for some redemption.
As my life shifts towards bringing up a family in the near future, I look forward to watching my children experience Nintendo.

I say 2012/2013 release and great specs now turning into disappointing specs and broken promises later. No hate, just learning from the past. Good luck to them, but I know what to expect,...not much.
We won't be fooled again!
