Japan is going to get to do a barrel roll on July 14 when Starfox 64 3D hits there for the Nintendo 3DS. Starfox 64 3D is a direct port from the Nintendo 64 version of the space flight adventure game, which is a remake from the original game Starfox for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Players will once again be able to join Fox McCloud and his wingmen Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Slippy Toad as they fight against the evil scientist Andross.
Nintendo also launched a new Starfox 64 website to go with the announcement. It's pretty bare and all in Japanese, but you can rock out to the music all day at work like I've been doing.
Starfox 64 has no current North American release date.

Good to see Nintendo going back to the time when it was actually cool. Starfox 64 was the second to last Nintendo game that I bought. from them.

Eh...I'll more than likely pick this game up, but I REALLY want to see some new games, not remakes. Before I know it, F-Zero X will get a remake.
I hope we see a NEW Starfox soon along with F-Zero. They are two franchises with well established fans and as cool as Mario and Zelda are, Nintendo needs to remember that they have other popular franchises as well.

just keep fox in the sky where he belongs none of that on foot garbage. the submarine and landmaster levels sprinkled in is cool though

I'd like to point out that this isn't a direct port. It's been said that there will be graphical enhancements and probably some multiplayer enhancements. A direct port would be just taking it and putting it on the system...

Also, it's not a "direct port" or else it a) would not be in 3D and b) the graphics would still look like the N64 version. Direct port generally means that it's unchanged from the original. But then again, I don't expect much out of a site whose "lead editor" says "volumptuous" *sic* instead of "voluptuous". (PROTIP: one of those isn't a real word, can you guess which one it is?)

Do a barrel roll!! IN 3D

"Japan is going to get to do a barrel roll," wow that's kinda horribly insensitive given the events of the last month. Also, Star Fox was on the SNES, not the NES. After spelling Satoru Iwata's name wrong eleventy-seven times, I seriously wonder if half of the people at G4 are even gamers.

Poor Japan doesn't need another barrel roll...

Idiots. Star Fox 1 was on SNES, not the NES. God you suck.

I am actually happy not to have a release date yet, I wouldnt have the money.

Are these games going to have orchestrated music?!?! That would be such an epic win. Just imagine the Ocarina of Time soundtrack... by a full orchestra... omg... =)

This will be awesome after playing pilot wings demo in stores first hand. I wanna fly!
Stellerman7
Its gonna suck waiting for this game to come out! I'm hoping this comes in August for the states. Probably on the top of my list for 3DS games.
