Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS To Be Released on June 19

Hey, listen! Nintendo has officially announced that Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the Nintendo 3DS will be released on June 19. The game is a direct port from the epic Nintendo 64 original action adventure classic and will also include Master Quest, a more challenging version of the game.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will of course have 3D particle effects and will come with the option to use the gyro sensor on the 3DS to aim your slingshot. The graphics have been fully remastered and the game looks fresher than ever. It will also feature a touch screen inventory system, much better than having to go through the start menus that we're so used to from the N64 version.

Highly a "direct port" is it has been enhanced... The game cube Zelda Master Quest is a direct port, just the joystick is different basically. However, enhanced is always better, at least when done by Nintendo. :)

Im a little leery. I have fooled around with the 3DS for sometime and I still struggle with the 3D. I like it when it works but any subtle movements and I am seeing 2 cross eyed displays. With a game like OoT, you will play for hours and this drive me nuts having to adjust your eyes. however I do like the enhances planned for this version

Cool. Nothing really new. This would be the only game I would buy the DS for... But it's not enough for me to buy a ds. More HC games then maybe. Play Station phone for me I guess.

I think the word your looking for is "enhanced"....as opposed to direct.....it's still very much a port...but a direct port leads you to think they just took the N64 game and put it on the 3DS....Master quest? Ok...a direct port of the GC version then.... but then there's the graphics and the 3D, the gyro sensor, touch screen inventory...

Yeah it's semantics and you did explain the enhanced elements regardless...point remains!

Hell NO! That's not Majora's Mask. That is the part of OoT where you rescue Epona and to keep for your own. You have to race that guy twice to win the horse. It's only one of the most crucial and exciting points of the game. How can you consider yourself a Zelda fan and not remember that? Feel free to jump out of a plane and forget your parachute. :)

June 19 is a sunday. Games in the US don't release until Tuesday. Is this Japan's release date, or are we really getting Ocarina of Time on a sunday?

BTW, isn't that screenshot from Majora's Mask?

I don't remember there being any multi-horse sections in Ocarina, it has been many years though.. where the %^&* is my N64!!

This is the only game (that I still have anyways) that I will did out my N64 for, hmm.. wonder where it's at now.

I have a feeling that all the future re-released 3DS games will have a lot of us hunting around bargain bin's and yard sales for the original games, instead of wanting to spend hundreds of dollars to play them once again lol.

Hopefully Nintendo will have a special edition LoZ 3DS that releases as part of a bundle pack like they did with the Gold ds with the triforce on it.

I'm the biggest nintendo fanboy ever and the legend of zelda series has always been a favorite but I can't help but think that this is going to end badly. OoT doesn't need 3D, I know I can't aim in real life so I'm sure gyroscopic slingshots will fail resulting in tons of virtual deaths and gamer rage.

These are both great games but if they're really only giving us a port and nothing new other than 3D then I say it's not worth it. I can play it on my wii OR laptop for MUCH less than 300 dollars

Is this remake just coming to the 3DS? I'd much rather play this -3D be damned- on a console than a handheld... unless I'm stuck on a flight for 10 to 15 hrs, in which case I'd relish having it on the 3DS.
