UPDATE 4/13/2011: Notch tweeted today he has decide to delay update 1.5. "The 1.5 delay is because of the feature creep. We don't have time to test it all in time for tomorrow." We'll keep you posted on any new information as we can get it.
Minecraft players are still getting used to the changes that came with update 1.4 on March 31 and soon they'll be getting another update. Minecraft update 1.5 is set to launch sometime soon. The update will bring weather and a functioning weather system. Notch just tweeted about the effects of thunder, "MUOAHAHA! Thunder Storms lower the brightness. That means daytime monsters during storms. This is freakily atmospheric." The update will also allow achievements and stats to be tracked.

Greatest game ever! Can't wait for the update! I love everything about the stats and achievements. Weather looks amazing but it doesn't have much of a purpose. He should have rain and snow do more. More weather should be added too. The main thing I want is more mobs! Zombies get old after a while. More passive and aggressive mods would be nice.
Notch should add a hardcore mod like in Fallout: New Vegas. You have to eat, drink and sleep or you'll die. I don't know what the punishment for dying would be though lol

I love this game. This new update will definitely give something new to the game even though its just weather which is crazy awesome. I really would like more different types of Mobs like the Mo Monsters Mod I think its called which is awesome. And the other thing is to add other human NPCs trying to survive. But make it an option because idk if other people would be into it. But in single player it gets kind of lonely. And it be cool to experience other people who might be friendly and want to partner up, or hostile and attack you if you get near them, and even my favorite would be people that are sly bastards who play nice to get close to you and than push you off a cliff or trap you in a room of creepers. And you can use gold as a currency to trade with other people so it actually gives gold a purpose besides looking nice. Idk it just be cool to wander into a town and find a bunch of people and know that your not alone. But than they should add it where when there are big chunks of people gathered around in one area will attract more monsters so it won't be that much easier with other people.

Awaiting patiently... should add a dynamic layer to Minecraft and your current world save. Hell, I might even start an entirely new one once this update hits.
