Toronto blog The Torontist has posted a series of photographs that may be of the set of an upcoming Silent Hill film, Silent Hill 3D. The photos show an eerie, fog-enshrouded amusement park, which seems like a perfect set for a Silent Hill film.

If they would stop tagging on the moniker of 3D and just started transitioning the industry into 3D, we wouldn't have this problem. The technology has to catch up. B-movies are always going to be B-movies, 3D is no different. You remember that terrible sci-fi movie you saw where the CG was terrible because it was lower budget? Well, 3D is no different.
Stop complaining about the 3D and get to the bigger issue: Those pictures don't really scream Silent Hill at all. It doesn't have the mystique or the terror of the complete closed-off nature of the Silent Hill world. I don't want to watch some teenager run around with a pretty-boy getting chased by monsters in a theme park. I want Silent Hill.

I walked through Silent Hill. though it was downtown Cambridge, Ontario.
They were filming a pretty intense part, Sean Bean was there anyway. They had the streets covered in torn newspaper, and it was so weird seeing the stores boarded up and the old cars covered in dust.
At least I can say that I've been through Silent Hill and survived!

There were rummors for Silent Hill 3 to be done into a movie and now that i see this im 100% sure that it will be done. This is one of the levels of silent hill 3 that take place in an ammusment park.... im actually looking forward to it :D<</safety_wrapper>

You know guys, there is a solution to the problem of 3D. You could suffer wearing the transparent 3d glasses one time and then when the dvd comes out never have to see it in 3D again.

as long as it's true to the source material and scary as all hell,I won't mind it being in 3d. I'm aching for anything Silent Hill I need me some Downpour.

I was on the set in Cambridge Ontario few weeks ago when they were filming...Took few pics too and saw Sean Bean. They moved no Hamilton now as much as I know then they will be coming back to film scenes in the prison. Sounds cool...Can't wait

You know they could just go to Lake Side Amusement park and film there, it would be much better than some traveling fair.

Just to correct - the source is Torontoist (not The Torontist). The shots themselves are indeed the set of Silent Hill... reach out to Christopher Drost (twitter - @drostphoto) if you want to see video or other stills from the set. These shots were taken at Cherry Beach Toronto - where the set was built. It's not an actual amusement park. The stills were shot around the time Malcom McDowell and other talent were on the Carousel while huge flames shot up around it.

Okay. To me 3D isn't "3D" anymore. It's just the next level of clarity like HD. So 3D to me is just Super Omega Crazy HD. Once you think about it and accept it that way 3D is more bearable.

Whoever is making these Silent Hill films is retarded. Did you know that they are skipping over Silent Hill 2? Which was the best game in the series, with the best story. That s why I m planning to make my own Silent Hill 2 film later this year.
