Valve's Chet Faliszek confirmed Portal 2 would be getting DLC after its launch. In an interview with Digtial Spy, Faliszek said "We have a DLC that we're going to be announcing. Really can't give you any detail [until] after launch, and we're going to have some details about how that'll get released and what that'll form forthcoming." DS did the honorable thing and followed-up by asking him if this DLC would have new stages. Faliszek said, "We'll see."
The most important part of Steam support for the PS3 and PC is that Valve will be able to releases updates and patches on a regular-basis. This would also enable cross-platform play between the PS3 and PC. "It'll let us update more frequently, which is a big thing especially because the PS3, PC and Mac can all play together," he said.
"And so why they might not get every single patch as some are PC-dependent or just for the PS3, it'll let us keep those in sync so they can do the cross-platform play. So that was the most important [thing]."
Xbox 360 players currently won't have a way to support cross-platform play. The PS3 has Steam suppport, an option the Xbox 360 doesn't have. It is unclear how updates, patches, and community levels will be distrusted to Xbox gamers.
Portal 2 will be released on April 19 for the PC, MAC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
