Cheats and Walkthroughs
Fez creator Phil Fish won't be making any games for Nintendo's WiiWare anytime soon. During an interview with Destructoid, Mr. Fish mentioned how many classic Nintendo games inspired him. He cited Zelda and Super Metroid as inspiration. But don't confuse his admiration for Nintendo's past with the chance he wants to develop a game for Nintendo's current console, the Wii. Keep reading to see Mr. Fish's strong words on the issue.
"Right now we're only concentrating on XBLA, which makes the most sense for us at the time. PC and PSN would also make a lot of sense, but in my opinion, WiiWare just wouldn't be worth our time and effort. It's a dismal system that I don't want to deal with neither as a customer, nor a developer. No demos? Fuck off."
WiiWare does have demos but they are for certain titles and have restrictions as to which games can use them. The few demos that are available are only playable for a limited time.
Mr. Fish isn't as anti-3DS as he his anti-Wii. "As for the 3DS, well, that would just have to be a completely different game. If I'm going to make a game that uses stereoscopic graphics, it's gonna be built from the ground up for that. Oh wait! I already did that. http://polytroncorporation.com/games/super-hypercube wink-wink nudge-nudge."
3DSWare doesn't launch until late May. I saw Fez at PAX East and I can't wait to play it. It does seem like it would work well on the 3DS, so it's a bummer it won't be coming to the handheld. I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that 3DSWare allows demos.
