Since the horrible earthquake in Japan a few weeks ago, Play 4 Japan has been raising money (over $23,000 so far) for Red Cross relief effort through auctioning amazing gaming memorabilia. A just-posted auction really takes the proverbial cake, though. Video game music composer Akira Yamaoka is auctioning off the acoustic guitar he used to compose the music from the Silent Hill series of video games.
The Yamaha APX-15FM you see pictured above is currently priced at $580 bucks, and was used on every Silent Hill soundtrack Yamaoka worked on.
The guitar also comes with two effects amps used while making the game soundtracks; a Line 6 FB4 and a Line 6 POD. Akira says that using these amps you can recreate any sound from the Silent Hill series. Plus, you know that thing is haunted. I predict the price will skyrocket: After all, a guitar that comes with ghosts is a valuable commodity.
