What do you think/know about the new disk format the Xbox 360 is using?

Looking at the Videogame Deathmatches for Franchises (perhaps even previous ones). What assumptions do you guys have on the gaming community here on G4 that voted/commented on the matchups based on preference?

Waggel wands, 3d game control, system eyes, and any form of visual 3d just don't do it, they don't really add anything. I can point at the screen with the Move to take out the Helghast but i am better at it with two joy sticks. I can use the Kinect to jump up and down on rafts but then i just fell like i am 5 again doing jumping jacks. With 3d if i sit on left side or the right side of the theater i still see the exact same movie with a false sense of depth perception. So my long over due question is, what is the next "innovation" in gaming? what is the next technology other than better visuals that will make all gamers cream their pants. Maybe even get some not-yet gamers into the game?

Now that the 3ds has released and people have had hands on time with the final machine and the software available, what are your opinions on the NGP?

with the majourity of the gaming community not expecting a new generation of consoles (exept handhelds) do you think devolopers will change the focus to new peripherals like they did with ps move, kinect, rockband & guitar hero instruments, and a thousands plastic wii controller add-ons.
such an example would be racing games coming with steering wheels and other parts

I've a question regarding 3D and the players viewpoint. it begins really after the 3D of crysis 2 and thinking hey wouldn't it be great to "see" like that in a lot of first person games. for instance, when you can see depth the HUD appears as a HUD and not part of the over-all picture. therefore do you feel that developers may exploit this further to expand both 3D and many games beyond the classic idea of a FPS, like say developing a great iron man game in which you feel that you are actually in the suit?

After seeing the news you guys showed that there were some reports of the now monikered name "The Black Screen of Death", which personally sounds like a name for a plague that afflicts video game consoles, but only the 3DS is weak enough to catch it as it is still a newborn.

It was upon seeing this news that my preference has been reaffirmed about getting things like consoles or even games on launch day and waiting a few weeks or at least a month after launch to get them, so that any bugs, glitches, or in this case hardware failure is found and repaired and patched.

My question then is do any of you on the Feedback panel every sometimes wait till after the smoke dies down from launches, the excitement so you are not in some way peer pressured even if indirectly, to go out and get that cool new thing before they figure out if anything is wrong with it and thus suffer that bit of disappointment?

So with the kinect, we have seen a number of far more impressive applications of the hardware outside of gaming and without microsoft's official support, including cool technical workings and even some in medical science. Optometrists are already starting to use the 3DS as a means to detect early childhood vision disorders, but do you think the use of the 3D camera and hardware would give the 3DS an opening to other impressive non-gaming applications as well?

With games like COD franchises, GTA and many other franchises you are seeing huge sales and all of these games are no doubt certified hits with astronomical sales numbers. Also though with a lot of these games most of them are some of the most prevelant on the used game shelves. Now gamers are a loyal breed but also a trade in breed as well. Loyalty is not in question with some though as remastered editions, reissues on old games on PSN and XBLA prove. Some old games have diehard followers. In todays game market what games developed do you and your staff consider keepers. Games that you still have on your shelf and will not turn in or that you would buy as a reissue on future consoles? Do todays games have the same hardcore audience as games past and which ones and why will remain on your shelves?

While at the gentleman's club last weekend watching the NCAA basketball tournament, my friends and I got our first look at the WWE All-Stars commercial and it was like a powerbomb of nostalgia to each one of us. I have my reservations about wrestling games since they have not been as good in the past in my opinion. Is WWE All-Stars a good innovative and fun game, or is it a generic, clunky controlling, fighting game with a WWE paint job?

Do you see the "free-to-play" business model actually working? It is either ad based or micro-transaction based really. Seeing as this is becoming more of an issue with smaller web-based games and mobile games than triple A titles as of right now. Are we going to see it cross that line in the near future more than just sports titles. COD has jeep as an example. Not that seeing ads is evil but one of the beautiful things about video games has been that it was one place to escape the marketing we are bombarded with. And this "free-to-play" seems to shred that one peaceful space away. Wondering what your thoughts are on this?

Do you think the technology in the 3DS could and should be used in other mediums? It could be used in computers and then the x-play website could be in 3D.

Games are continuosly getting new engines and tech creating new experiences never imagined, which help create a sense of realism and amazement in gaming. Some small examples are being able to pick up objects, see yourself in a mirror, cloaking, seeing a persons body react naturally, destructible environments, or even flushing a toilet(which can apply to both amazing and real). What would you like to see included in a game whether it be far fetched or simple? Thank you and I love the show!

Why do game developers or more likely their publishers, release unfinished games? Every year I have a large list of games that I'm excited for that have great ideas. Sadly the list dwindles and I'm left dissapointed. I would gladly wait for my favorite games to be delayed if it means the difference between having a game played and forgotten or one of the greatest games of the generation. I say this because after the release of games such as Dragon Age 2 and Homefront, it leaves me skeptical of the 2011 releases. I want another game experience like Uncharted 2 or Star Wars Knights of the Old Repbulic, that makes me excited when I think back on it. Please don't rush Mass Effect 3 Bioware and EA! Thank you and I love the show! I wish G4 was back on DirecTV. I sadly feel the answer is greed.

What exactly happens if a young kid uses the 3DS? I know it's supposed to be bad but specifically what happens?

In this generation of gaming, most consoles or PCs are connected to the internet. This gives developers the chance to patch their games and offer DLC which sounds great on paper. However there are many examples in which developers develop the mentality of "well the game is broken but we'll patch it later" or "well the game is short, we'll release DLC later." An example of a flawed game that is pushed out to be patched later would be Fallout New Vegas, and a game guilty of unnecessary DLC is Rock Band Beatles, holding certain Beatles songs back to be payed for later.
Anyway I'm not going to ask if patches and DLCs are actually bad things because I know they aren't, but do you see this trend and are you worried that it will grow and turn into a crutch that developers rely too heavily on? Or is it something that you have learned to live with?

This fall is going to be an enormous one in terms of game releases, almost on the level of the fall of 2007 at this point, and I'm sure there will be more titles announced which will be released in that time frame also. So it is time for you to get out your crystal balls because my question for you is which games do you think will triumph in terms of sales over the others, which games will fail in comparison, and which titles, if any, will be pushed back into 2012 for fear of being squashed?

Now that the 3ds is here, do you think Nintendo will use it as a means to show 3d media like movies or shows? Also I found that the AR cards were amazing, will they produce more AR cards in the future? If so how will Nintendo give AR cards out?
