Ok, hardcore, up-for-any-challenge gamers out there, next week will mark the release of the greatest challenge in video game history. Harder than Ninja Gaiden, Paper Boy and Battletoads combined. Next week's Rock Band 3 DLC will include "Through The Fire and Flames: by technical heavy metal band DragonForce -- on Pro Guitar.
Even the greatest Guitar Hero players found the song a challenge on Expert when it was released for that game. I feel confident in saying that no one will be able to 100 percent this particular track using Pro Guitar mode. You will cry, I promise you.
Check out the song on an ancient episode of Attack of the Show for an idea of how insanely hard it is to play.
Here's the rest of the track available on March 29.
Days of Peace Pack 01 (440 Microsoft Points / 550 Wii Points / $5.49)
- "Somebody to Love" - Jefferson Airplane (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)
- "Spinning Wheel" - Blood, Sweat & Tears (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)
- "Black Magic Woman" - Santana (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)*
Individual songs
- "Through the Fire and Flames" - DragonForce (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)*
- "Operation Ground and Pound" - DragonForce (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)
Anyone up for the challenge?

I still remember their first OzzFest appearance " DO YOU GUYS LIKE KEYBOARDS?!" "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

I've seen Dragonforce live and yes they really are bad most of the time. Though I give them hellacious amounts of credit for the complexity of the stuff they try and play.
Now playing this song on pro mode, I can bet will be next to impossible.. it would take months and months of practicing the same song over and over again constantly.. most gamers dont have that sort of detication nor patience.

Peace songs look pretty cool. Love Jefferson Airplane!

Without seeing any of the note chart, how do we know just how insane it is, and if it does, or doesn't, live up to the hype? Then again, G4 considered non-pro-guitar TTFATF in GH the hardest song of any music game in the genre without considering that the U.S and those few series don't make up a large % of the music games out there, and there have been thngs harder than non-Pro-Guitar GH for well over a decade before that comment was made.

How bout we all just watch this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =0jgrCKhxE1s

That was bad

ugh i had to sit through these guys when i went to see chimera in concert...wasnt much better

Actually, DragonForce is pretty awesome. Maybe not nearly as good live, but what's going on in that video clip has more to do with the AOTS studio being worthless for band acoustics.
I don't know why that happens sometimes, but it does. Jay Leno's old stage for his guest bands had atrocious sound quality that just murdered otherwise great bands....this is pretty much how it made everyone sound.

I generally don't like to badmouth any bands, but Dragonforce is so terrible I make an exception. They're the Nickelback of metal.
chuckleslaughs
Yeah, they REALLY suck live...

@ fatty_matty - most bands never do? Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through...the play some technical stuff, and when i saw them live, they sounded just like their recordings, better even. Dragonforce would bank more if they just stayed in the studio...because playing live for them just ruins their reputation.
@Sally Wong - im sure they tuned their guitars just find before they started playing, but then they started raping their floyd rose, thats when they knocked out of tune ;)
Sally Wong
These dudes really need to learn how to tune their instruments. That was horrid.

jeez you kids listen to schitty music

:( For a second I though Olivia Munn came back to ATOS, but it was only from a re-run...
Fatty_Matty
Anyone try playing that live, and then try telling me they suck. Of course it is not going to sound as good live, most bands never do. This is different in that it is a really, really, REALLY difficult song, as I am sure the pro mode version that is coming out will justify.

DF isn't a bad group, I liked their songs before they released the track to GH. But there's no denying they aren't as good live. I saw them once and it wasn't that hot. This video shows that a studio is required to get everything to sound right.
FlameKnightZX
It sounds like they are slowing unlearning the guitar.

I am wit Stephen. U guys r just haters

Woah! DragonForce hatred! Personally, I only listen to Leonard Cohen, but I thought you guys liked DF.
