Dead or Alive: Dimensions' box art has been altered for North American audiences. The ESRB felt that Kasumi's high kick showed off too much thigh. The thigh is commonly believed to be the most suggestive and offensive part of the body. Actually I just made that up. Tecmo Koei fixed the problem by making Kasumi's socks a little higher and her dress longer. Honestly, the change is so subtle, I wonder why the ESRB cared. Does the uncensored DoA: Dimensions box offend you?
Dead or Alive: Dimensions is a 3DS exclusive set to be released in NA on May 25.

I could understand the censoring of the Dead Island logo for america. While I think it's a bit stupid, I understand.
This, doesn't make much sense to me in the least. As someone else said, I wouldn't have even thought about that had the ESRB not said anything about it. It still baffles me how hung up on sexuality we are in america. *shrugs*

In ESRB's defense, I think they are just trying to not give prudish rabble rousers a chance to...uh... rouse rabble. I think it also has to do with the belief that Nintendo's target demographic should be geared towards a younger audience (though I hate it when people make that generalization.) Just look at other 2 other DOA games (if you can call them that) that show a LOT more thigh. (And for that matter boob.)

The first cover of the game was the best. Y'know, the one where Kasumi has her legs behind her head? Now that was a cover! Wait....was that a game box or a .......never mind, wrong form of entertainment.

I'm more offend that the art looks out of place; the leg looks shorter, fater and the kick looks lower and less powerful.... The ESRB really raped the box art.

If you altered her tunic/robe by her right breast the same amount that they altered by the thigh, you would see her nipple. I think the ESRB needs a checks and balances system. P.S.: Either way the alteration is unnecessary.

That's clearly the start of the ass...so it's not too surprising... that being said... it's sad that they felt the need to cover that up....especially considering there's a lot worse on the shelves...
However..... it's not like a minor change in the cover art... actually changes the game in said case in any way....

They only did it so some stupid mom at walmart wouldn't make a fit her kid saw a girls leg while shopping for Mario. Which if you think about it is remarkably stupid because a kid that young does not even know what is sexual, if they saw the cover they would be like "karate girl!" not "OMG look at that chicks thigh, thats hot"...

I look at both pictures going " whats different?..............oh wait there it is" , and it doesn't even make that big of a change to something that wasn't that offensive.

I think it's kind of funny that they make the new cover have longer socks and a longer dress, but yet if they are only in bikinis and have "abnormally jiggly breasts" (DOA volleyball games) that's ok...
