Dead or Alive: Dimensions' box art has been altered for North American audiences. The ESRB felt that Kasumi's high kick showed off too much thigh. The thigh is commonly believed to be the most suggestive and offensive part of the body. Actually I just made that up. Tecmo Koei fixed the problem by making Kasumi's socks a little higher and her dress longer. Honestly, the change is so subtle, I wonder why the ESRB cared. Does the uncensored DoA: Dimensions box offend you?
Dead or Alive: Dimensions is a 3DS exclusive set to be released in NA on May 25.

I really don't care (cause I like a nice set of thighs), but I can understand that the Jones's down the street who still live the 30's would see it as offensive. I guess the guy rating the box art must have been Muslim or something.

Seriously this shows just how broken game rating systems can be. Yes sometimes there may be the cause to change things within a game if they are offensive or over the top but when rating boards start getting cover art changed because of limbs? That's worrying.

I just don't t see the point in censoring something so small. Honestly I don't even really look at the box art of a game because i'm too busy playing the damn game. The ESRB in my opinion is starting to get ridicules.

I think the alteration is a waste of time. Just speaking in a business sense, isn't there far more important things the ESRB could be focusing on than a thigh leg shot?!? I am not sure what possesses the ESRB to focus on things so minuscule. In all reality, I think one could easily argue that the Dead Island cover before being changed would offend more just because it looks like a human hanging from a tree and supposedly could promote "suicidal ideations" within those who are struggling mentally/emotionally. Nonetheless, in both cases I can't help but feel that art is suppose to sometimes be edgy; isn't it?

I was at the MALL today and I passed a body shop (lotions and whatnot) and this store had two posters showing a girl, naked, with her back to us and holding a leaf to hide her ass, But it was a little high and you can totally see some cheek. I'd be more offended by that than this. At least the character is wearing clothes.. =\

The ESRB are a bunch of censoring pigs. They don't like something, they put an Ao rating until you change it and make YOU pay for every application, which is a good $10,000 a go. No, I'm not exaggerating they charge thousands of dollars to ruin you.
