The Naked Gun Lives On As A Facebook Game

Another The Naked Gun movie is unlikely but that doesn't mean you'll have to say goodbye to the series, it will live on as a facebook game. The Naked Gun: International Crime Unit Police or I.C.U.P. isn't just another FarmVille style social media game. Players will solve crimes episodically, much like Telltale releases their games. I imagine it will be like CSI: Miami, except it will be intentionally hysterical.

The Naked Gun: ICUP will be a re-imagining of the franchise intended for a new generation who may have missed the movies. The game is being made by GameCentric and will use their Story Box engine. A release date has not been announced. For fans of the movies who fear this game won't capture the humor of the films, here's what one of the game's writers, Nick Creature, had to say.

”To have the opportunity to introduce this screwball universe to a whole new generation who will be able to interact with it is a thrill. As a writer who grew up watching Police Squad and the Naked Gun films, I can’t tell you what an incredible feeling it is to be able to put things in Frank Drebin’s mouth.”

The game was also penned by Robert LoCash who wrote and produced two of The Naked Gun movies. I think we can all rest easy knowing this series in good hands.

Do you think The Naked Gun will make a good facebook game?
