Actress Jeri Ryan has been confirmed as Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat web series, and we've got the first on-the-set video and interview with her!
Ryan, also known as Star Trek: Voyager's Seven of Nine, promises the MK web-series will be gritty, with no campy "kissing" finishing moves. You can also expect a ton of whoop-ass. "[Sonya] gets into it with Kano a bit -- there's a bit of a history there," Ryan says of her character. "She takes out a few of the Black Dragons, she kicks a little bit of ass, it's good times," Ryan adds.

The Mortal Kombat web series is the brainchild of director Kevin Tancharoen. It's an expansion of "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth," a short film Tancharoen released on YouTube in June. Along with Ryan, the MK web-series stars Michael Jai White as Jax, Darren Shahlavi and Ryan Robbins. The project is expected to debut on April 19, when the Mortal Kombat game launches.

Personally I think Jerri's a hot,sexy, milf.These twenties somethings can keep their untalented Katy Perrys and rehabed Lindsay Lohans.At least Jerri can act tough and look good doing it.Maybe some would rather have Sonya stuck in 1992 looking like an aerobics instructor instead of a believible swat team operative cop.I can't wait to see these webisodes and see how these characters develop different from their game counter parts.

Jerri is too old huh, so people tell me exactly how "OLD" is Sonya Blade. As long as there is a tough actress who's not known for her looks alone that's fine. I don't wanna see some pin up model, or playboy bunny potraying someone tough.. it's a real dumb. It's like casting Megan Fox as Wonder Woman.
