Mass Effect 2's facebook page is teasing upcoming DLC Arrival with new screenshots. The first screenshot was released yesterday with the text "New Mass Effect 2 screenshots have Arrived." If the image got more than 750,000 views they promised to upload another screenshot today. Keep reading to see what they uploaded.
Today, Mass Effect 2's fb page featured this image showing Commander Shepard looking at a screen with the numbers "304942." Underneath the picture the text reads, "Will there be another one Arriving tomorrow?" I guess if this picture also gets 750,000 impressions they'll upload another screenshot, presumably from Mass Effect 2 DLC Arrival.
Arrival is expected to be the last piece of DLC before the release of Mass Effect 3. Like Lair of the Shadow Broker, it will help bridge the gap between the two games. Mass Effect 3 will be released this fall for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Iam thinking that maybe the number represents the age of the Mass Relay in the picture. I remember there being a Cerberus news update about a scientist (name escapes me at the moment but she was also listed in the "leaked" achievements for the DLC) who apparently discovered that they (or one of them I can't remember off the top of my head right now) was much older than anyone had original thought - predating the Protheans. Perhaps the number indicates how old (or how much older than originally thought) they are.
Or it could be a countdown but I do not think it is a countdown to the release of ME3. That would be rather corny. Maybe it is a countdown for this "Arrival." What is it that will be arriving?
Maybe they have picked up on a signal coming from the mass relay suggesting that there is something on it's way through but it is so far away (maybe in dark space) that it will take that long for it to come through. Will the reapers using this old mass relay to invade Earth as we saw in the teaser?
This is all speculation but I think it is rather plausible.

When I got my new laptop and sold my old one, I forgot to transfer my save data from the Mass Effect games and all the DLC for both games. I REALLY want to play this. But I've got to go BACK through ME1+2, plus expansions, ALL OVER AGAIN.
This is gonna suck.

The first picture looks like the citadel custom walkway and the second looks like the computer screens from Overlord (you know just add a big radar dish in the background).

On the Cerberus Network it said the DLC will come out 2 weeks before Mass Effect 3 so I wouldn't be expecting this DLC till end of the year.

Just imagine the lines at your local gamestops or wherever if Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, and Modern Warfare 3 all release on the same day... o_O

I think that you are partially correct about the number given is a countdown of 212 days, however I think that it is referring to the release date of Mass effect 3(I don't have a calendar in front of me but that should place it some where around october 12th), not a July 31st release date for the new DLC. I assume that this DLC will give a timeline in the form of a countdown for the reapers return in the ME universe...Just a theory.

Just a guess but....
304,942 minutes = 5082 hours = 212 days (rounded up)
The 212th day of the year is July 31st
Maybe this is the date it will be released? Like I said, just a guess. :-)
Or it could be just some random number.
