The internet detectives over at Superannuation have dug up some interesting news on what could point to the first details of not-yet-announced Grand Theft Auto 5.
The news come in the form of casting notices from talent agency called The Agency for something called "Rush," a project many believe is Grand Theft Auto 5. If this shakes out (and that's a huge "if"), the next Grand Theft Auto game will be set in Los Santos (fictional Los Angeles) and will feature an interesting group of colorful lowlifes and criminals.
I've posted the character descriptions under the cut (Spoiler?), so you can make up your own mind:
Mitch Hayes:
38 ? Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor.
Miguel Gonzalez:
25 Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut
Clyde:
23 ? Moronic, almost inbred and creepy white trash hillbilly. Very naïve but in a creepy ?it?s only incest sort of way?
Brother Adam:
Welsh monk / cult leader / yoga teacher ? 50, very lithe, very into exploring your personal tension through gripping massage. Needs Welsh accent.
Mrs Avery:
Neurotic soccer mom, home maker, 48, anxious and addled on pain killers. Very angry at neighbor MRS Bell.
Mrs Bell:
Swinger, and mellow Californian divorcee. 45. Ugly but comfortable with self.
Eddie:
47 ? Weed evangelist, guy who started smoking at 30, and is now a leading proponent of marijuana?s fantastic properties. White, awkward.
Ira Bernstein:
56 ? publicist for an actress known as America?s newest sweetheart who just so happens to love animals, orphans, drugs and sex. He?s always trying to hide her latest indiscretion.
Kevin De Silva:
18 ? Albert?s fat, FPS playing gamer son. Smokes a lot of weed, has anxiety issues and a card for a bad back, very soft, very opinionated. Into making racist comments while playing online.
Harut Vartanyan:
42-52 years old ? Armenian car dealer, moneylender, would be Fagin and would be bully. Heavily connected to the underworld, but irritates people so much no one likes him.
Nervous Jerry:
48 ? paranoiac living in the sticks, near Simon, completely paranoid, and terrified of Simon.
Calvin North:
55 ? clapped out FBI agent who now mostly works offering advice on TV shows ? whose only claim to fame turns out to be entirely false ? but a decent guy in other ways. Badly dressed. Divorced. Putting on weight.
Jerry Cole:
53 ? disabled IT expert and criminal information vendor.
Rich Roberts:
English hardman actor, 35, who acts tough but who wants to do serious work - the only problem is he can't quite read the words.
Alex:
white 52 yr old loosie goosie hippy rich guy who has lost his money and is getting desperate but trying not to.
Scarlet:
45-52 years old ? unshaven female spiritualist and hippy with a love of exploring the wilderness. Very into journeys.
Chad:
29 ? pretty boy misogynist Beverly Hills party boy. Made money, but not as cool as he thinks he is.
Tae Wong:
39 ? somewhat incompetent Chinese mobster, loves doing ecstasy, going to raves.
Taes Translator:
45 - VERY STRAIGHT LACED Chinese translator, terrified of his boss?s dad. Male, awkward. Needs to speak Chinese.

grand theft auto IV was great!!!!!!!! :D but in grand theft auto 5 they should have the cities they already have used and put it into that one game. each city could be on different islands and the way to get there is by boat or plane. thats my opinion on what they should do.

I sure hope that "rush" is not code for GTA V because then it would defently be one of the worst GTA ever made.
just look at those characters it seems more like a cast of a bad B movie then of a hit game like GTA.

Why does everyone keep on saying it will be GTA V? If the two after GTA III followed different names, but stayed within the world of GTA III (i.e. GTA: Vice City and San Andreas), why on earth would they go straight to GTA V now? I say it will just be GTA: (name of city they are in), especially all the references throughout GTA IV of other places like Vice City. Am I the only one who sees this?

There are two names listed in the descriptions that are not listed: Albert and Simon. I am betting they are more central characters than the rest listed. Possibly the main character and antagonist.

These two characters pretty much tell you that if this is for GTA 5 then it is indeed based in California, If the character you play as is "Mitch Hayes" that sounds like an average american name making it likely that your character will be Caucasian (a white guy).

This character "Eddie" helps suggest that maybe the game will be based at a current time or maybe just a Little Jacob replacement.
Chad:

This "Chad" seems like a likely replacement for Bruce

Well this guy is obviously the Chinese equivalent to Gay Tony and probably one of the main criminals you go after in the game considering he has a translator.

I'm guessing this guy will be your FBI partner most likely blowing up your cell phone a lot and getting angry at you for not wanting to go out for donuts.

I bet they took a while to find the perfect white trash hillbilly name for this guy I honestly think there is some better names for that though like Cletus or Billy Bob.
From my observations assuming you play as "Mitch Hayes" it looks like you will be a FBI agent with your young Mexican American partner Miguel and your main missions in the game will probably have to do with these mob bosses and taking each one down leading up to Tae Wong who seems to be the most important mob boss with the life style of Gay Tony, Most likely if you're FBI you will have some undercover missions and you will have to do some surveillance on crimes and such also being FBI will give you all sorts of side missions which probably have to do with a lot of these other characters, Depending on how deep Rockstar goes you might be able to be a corrupt FBI agent which seems somewhat likely for a GTA game. From what I can tell the game looks like it will be set in California maybe in the Beverly Hills area and beyond. I don't know about you guys but I see a good game coming together and this to me seems like Rockstar's way of telling us where GTA 5 will be located if in fact this is the character cast for GTA 5.

hmmmm, 3 FBI agents listed. Usually you don't get many of those in the cast. They are just cops and detectives. It would be cool if the player got to be a former FBI agent that was framed or something and is now out for revenge.
