Since the countdown clock with a Modern Warfare-esque font and sounds first appeared on FindMakarov.com, more pieces of information have slowly trickled out. First, Activision released a statement that claimed the thing was a hoax. Today, various sites have been reporting that the whole thing is actually a project of a Toronto-based production house called We Can Pretend, which has a few samples of their previous work on their website. The most interesting one is a video called "Occupation." which is well worth watching (the Doritos Tablet is funny as well).
We reached out to FindMakarov.com, and through them we've heard from a source who is actually one of the owners of We Can Pretend, and while they didn't reveal exactly what is going on with the site, which was recently updated to a new red look complete with a sweeping radar and the same countdown, it is obvious that we'll know more later this week.
Additionally, they provided us with an exclusive image from the project, which you can check out after the break. It's clearly from a live-action video, and presents a scene that looks familiar to those of us who have played Modern Warfare 2. Is this related to a sequel? Is it a company seizing a good opportunity for self-promotion? One thing is for sure: it's highly doubtful that this is some sort of viral surprise reveal for Battlefield 3, because I doubt any publisher would go this deep into a rival's game backstory.
At any rate, we'll have more information for you this week, so stay tuned.

What a lame attempt to capitalize off Call of Duty series. I hope nobody pays this company any attention, as all it did was disappoint all the fans of the COD series for teasing us with their crappy film.
I hope we get some Modern Warfare 3 news at E3 since it's not going to happen at GDC. It's being predicted that the game will do $300 million in sales here http://mwarfare3.com/call-of-d uty-modern-warfare-3-to-do-300 -million-in-sales-162. I think that's about right with the terrible gameplay of Black Ops, the hacking, and really not many changes being made to the franchise so less people will be buying and it won't shatter any records.

Makarov is up to his usual no good once again. I really enjoyed the story line in the last episode, and the quality of that shooter was exceptional but could have been much better in the graphics department. If you want to find Makarov my friends, your would be very wise to start looking inside the CIA first !

Do CoD games take 3 to 4 years to develop so they come out every year, or is it 2 year development because there's only 2 developing studios, Because I love em but its starting to feel like madden.

Somebody is definitely standing over whoever's hand that is. and it looks like he was dragged a ways, about 5 feet? Also appears to be a M4 in the distance... Ideas? i mean besides the obvious idea of him being beat up and dragged....

Live action fan made flick? Probably. After all, with literally hundreds and hundreds of amazing games that would deserve to be used by fans for a short film, it seems obvious that someone would choose...Modern Warfare...for some strange, moronic reason.

Maybe by some slim odds Ghost lives and that's his crispy hand since a lot of people seem to think the next COD is about him, can't really see if the hand is burnt since its mostly in the shadow.
