SOCOM 4's cooperative multiplayer mode has finally been detailed. There will be two types of co-op modes, “Takedown” and “Espionage.” Both modes can be customized based on difficulty and the amount of enemies on the map. This doesn't mean you can stack the odds in your favor though, even at its easiest, SOCOM 4's co-op is designed to be challenging.

Takedown: In Takedown your squad must pass through enemy lines to search for opposing VIPs that you must neutralize by whatever means necessary.
Espionage: Intelligence gathering is your main goal in Espionage. You and your team must work together to take out enemy operations while collecting data.
SOCOM 4 will be released on April 19 exclusively for the PS3.

I hope the Multiplayer is as fun as it was in Socom 2 I know a lot of people will disagree with me but Socom 2 is still my favorite Multiplayer game I have ever played and none of the Call of Duty's has ever came close to the amount of fun it brought me.

awesome game can't wait till it comes out... i know the multiplayer will be better than that god awful socom confrontation game. Plus the custome co-op campaign sounds amazing.

No campaign Coop, no purchase from me. This is a used buy or a rental at best. They just threw together a half hearted coop mode or two in there so they can have a bulletpoint on the back of the box that claims it has coop.
In a game that is all about fighting along side a team, not having online coop is the most boneheaded and idiotic thing they could possibly to. This is 2011, Sony, come on.

This game has definitely peeked my interest. Good thing I got KillZone 3 with a voucher for the Socom 4 beta. I'm gonna see if this actually lives up to what they were saying tactics wise within the PS blog video. If it does, this is a day one buy for me (on Amazon.com that is, can't always give my money to Gamestop).
