The box art for L.A. Noire is here! The box art for L.A. Noire is here!
Rockstar's open-world fedora simulator with the amazing facial mapping sofware comes out on May 17 for the PS3 and 360, and there is no game I'm more excited about than this one.
How about you guys? Are you into this game like I am? Or will I be terribly disappointed when this hits stores?

Damn that looks really good!

The box art is pretty cool, if a little too "busy" for my tastes. But it's still one of my most anticipated titles of the year. I'm re-reading all my Ross MacDonald and Raymond Chandler novels, I'm so psyched for this game. Anyone interested in noir that only knows about James Ellroy should give them a look. Also lesser known guys like David Goodis and Charles Willeford.

What? Blue and orange contrast? No one has ever done that before for box art. Jesus guys there is a full colour spectrum to work with, try some others will ya.

After playing " Heavy Rain ", the feeling I was left with, was the same feeling I get, whenever I read a dull, drawn out novel, and half way through it, I know exactly how who did it, and how it's all going to end, and who really cares anyways.
"Heavy Rain" and " L.A. Noire " are of a similar genre of video games, that can best be described as " Who Done It ", and are only for a chosen few, and will mostly only interest those who either enjoy reading a novel, or are mentally challenged and compelled and driven to complete given puzzles.
I waited until "Heavy Rain" was on sale for $19.99, and even then, and on completion of the game, I felt like I had paid 3 times more than what I really should have for that game. The personal gratitude and experience I received from playing and completing such a genre of video game, was very low.
I actually had similar thoughts and feelings, about half way through "Red Dead Redemption", and was totally blown away, when it was a nominee and then appointed the "Video Game of the Year ".
So given all the above, I think I will simply wait for " L.A. Noire " to go on sale for $19.99 or less, in about a one month time, after it's release date, and then what ever it turns out to be, ( boring, good or bad ) will be much easier to appreciate and accept. A good hard covered " Who Done It Novel " for $19.99 to $29.99, is much wiser and smarter investment, in my estimations.

Yeah the PS3 Version definitely has more of a true black contrast then the 360 version. The Shadows are just so much more complex! Oh but the 360 version's edges are sharper and it looks more fluid but the PS3 totally looks better! Suck it Fanboys! Booo! Down with Micro$oft! I hate everything that isn't what I love! w00t! OMGWTFBBQ!1111!!!!!!1111!!!!!! 2
Oh wait I'm sorry, I saw a PS3 and Xbox thing side by side and figured G4 was doing one of those annoying comparasion videos.
Anyway I'm pumped for the game. I don't know about that Boxart though, I would've expected something... Something more simple for lack of a better word. It almost looks like a 80's movie almost. But yeah I'm pumped!

I hope this game rated M, not T.

Anyone else notice the blue and orange contrast on a lot of box art covers?
Regardless, this looks fantastic. I can't wait for this game.

Looks kind of cheap and ugly but whatever, wont make the game any worse or better.

I'm not a fan of the box art but it will be sitting on my coffee table while I play the game on May 17th.

Wow the textures, lighting and resolution of the xbox box art is superior to the grainy PS3 box art.... !!!
(I am kidding - just in case you were going to explode)

recent Rockstar ventures:
Grand Theft Auto IV
Red Dead Redemption
and now an original L.A. Noire
It's not just the fact that the game looks great, but Rockstar is one of the few developers I can trust to have a solid product and that's saying something these days. L.A. Noire has made it to my buy list and that is no easy feat.
