Professor Layton and The Diabolical Box

If I've learned nothing else from playing Game Dev Story on my iPhone, I've learned that it's hard to develop a top-selling game. Apparently, game-maker Level-5 read the real-life sales success walkthrough, because the company's Professor Layton series has sold over 11 million copies since the first PL game was launched for the DS in 2008.

There have been four titles in the series, and a 3DS game, title-translation: Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, is coming out on February26 in Japan, although no American release date has been announced.

To commemorate the game's release, Level-5 will host a live webcast completion ceremony. This will be held from 19:00 to 21:00 on the 24th (ahead of the 26th release date) and will feature Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino and the game's cast.

And a true gentleman does not say 'Yay', young lady.

    Good form, Layton!

I've heard good things about the series but... after playing a demo in a store, reading some reviews and seeing some videos, I'm still not sure I want to play the games. As a Phoenix Wright fan I am getting Phoenix vs. Layton, but the biggest issue I have with the Layton games is the massive amount of puzzles that seem to have little to do, if anything do do with what you're trying to accomplish, but have to be solved to proceed.
