Rage, the upcoming first person shooter, has a trailer showing us glimpses of gameplay. It's built on id Software's newest engine, ID Tech 5. Rage takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, a genre Bethesda, the game's publisher, has proved they know well. The game is set in the near future and this time the world is in disarray because of the asteroid 99942 Apophis.

Like the song featured in the trailer? It's an original track called "Burning Jacob’s Ladder" by Mark Lanegan.

Fun Fact: The asteroid 99942 Apophis is real and could hit Earth on April 13, 2036. The odds of actual impact are 1 in 250,000. If anything, Rage is an educational game helping us prepare for the future. Thanks, id Software!

Rage will be released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on September 13th.
