Last night at the Grammy awards, for the first time ever, a song from a video game won a Grammy. Christopher Tin took home a statue for "Baba Yetu" from Civilization 4. The song for "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists."
Tin won a second Grammy for "Best Classical Crossover Album" for Calling All Dawns, the record that features "Babu Yetu."
- RATING: Civilization 5 review
"We're so proud of Christopher's Grammy Award victory and what he has accomplished," Video Games Live CEO Tommy Tallarico in a statement this morning. "This historic moment will continue to bridge the gap between mainstream music and video games. It is an honor to perform his music in our show."

And I can't wait for the day when a song from a video game wins best song or best record.

Yes, it is very much so from Civ 4, but it was released recently on record, thus making it eligible for a Grammy. And yes, it is very much so an incredible, beautiful piece.
