Apple may be moving into the television gaming business. An Internet tech-head at Engadget noticed some code in the beta of Apple's iOS 4.3 3 firmware seem to suggest Apple plans to move into bringing games to your television.
According to Engadget:
"Several references have been found pertaining to 'ATVGames' and 'ATVThunder' that point to a controller of some sort, leaderboards (think Game Center), a way to schedule games (multiplayer?), and a store front (think App Store, iTunes)."
The code suggests to Engadget that Apple TV may be posisitioned as a game-streaming service, not dissimiallr to OnLive.

It's not the most solid evidence of all, but when you combine the facts with a little speculation and some logic, Apple getting into gaming seems pretty plausible. After all, if they combined the current Apple app store with Apple TV and a controller, there would be an instant library of thousands and thousands of games available on launch day to the Apple faithful, and who wouldn't want to make that much money?
What do you think? Is an Apple TV powered gaming streaming service in the works?

Steve Jobs said he hates video games, yet this happens!

Excuse me, i would like to point out that when the app store for the mac came out it did not have mobile games it had actual pc games. So, I think apple will be perfectally able to get good full games. Seriously people use your common sense nobody would like mobile games on their tv.

I'm sure they will sell a billion of them. But why would I want an iPhone on my TV.

I have been with "Mac" from day one, and they still can't seem to produce one computer that is reasonably priced at around $ 499. and get people hooked on the "Mac", and at the same time capture the majority of computer sales worldwide.
So until "Apple" learns the golden rule about pricing and gets ride of the real problem at "Apple" ( first name is Steve ) , I really don't think anyone is ever going to be worried if "Apple" gets into the video game industry or not.
A great example of "Apple Logic", is the fact that the iPhone cost less to produce than any other similar smart phones, but "Apple" still demands $600. to $800. for their products, while others are selling there equally just as good units, for less than half the cost of an iPhone and still making and reporting huge profits.
The trick here "Steve" is to get the consumer use to and wanting your product, and then do the fleecing thing.

That library would be filled with crappy mobile games. Not that all mobile games are bad, but in a library of thousands, most of them will suck.
