The 2011 Into the Pixel exhibit features twenty works of video game art, selected by a panel of jurors from a field of submissions gleaned from artists around the world. The exhibition offers an opportunity for published video and computer game artists to be reviewed and recognized by the public and by their peers in both the fine art and video game worlds.
We're highlighting the artists taking part in this year’s Into the Pixel exhibit leading up to the end of the DICE conference on February 11. Read on to find out about the artists behind this StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty artwork entitled "Tychus Findlay." (Click artwork image for a high-resolution version.)
The following artists, which comprise Blizzard's cinematics team, have contributed to such acclaimed and succesful franchises as World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, Warcraft, and even back to The Lost Vikings II, and they are: Chris Thunig, Fausto De Martini, Xin Wang, Jeremiah Johnson, Bernie Kang, Joe Peterson, Scott Campbell, Jason Hill, and Nick Carpenter.
Now in its seventh year, Into the Pixel is the one annual opportunity for video and computer game artists to have their work critically reviewed by experts in both the digital and fine art worlds. The 2011 Into the Pixel Exhibition will premiere in June at E3 in Los Angeles.
