The first teaser trailer for Battlefield 3, DICE’s next iteration in its wildly popular military shooter series, has been released, and, boy, is it teaser-y. It shows some frantic, hard to see combat, a jet blowing up a helicopter, and that’s pretty much it. But don't take my word for it. Have a look for yourself:

While the trailer might not have shown much, DICE did reveal a few tidbits about the game on its Battlefield blog, like the fact that jets, the ability to go prone, and 64-player multiplayer on PC will be returning in the next installment, and the game will include full single-player and co-op campaigns. The limited edition is also now available for pre-order, but the specifics of its contents have yet to be announced.
More details should be pouring in soon as the latest issue of Game Informer has a big cover story on the game, and EA will be doing a proper unveiling at GDC 2011 later this month, so stay tuned.
Battlefield 3 is set for release this fall on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

I hope the game is better than this trailer. It was worthless. If I had not been a long time BF player I would not buy it based on this.

Oh Cant wait for this. . 64 players though. crazy, hope it doesnt have connection issues like COD does. COD servers blow. cant play for an hour without being disconnected multiple times. Only game I have ever had it happen. freakin annoying.........

Guess you didn't see the "teaser" in teaser trailer. I figured the intentional obscurity was to be expected, but hey thats just me.

The teaser was what it was. A teaser. It was only an annoucement not a dev diary. I will be getting this game because I just starting playing Bad Company 2 and I have to say I haven't gone back to COD. I love the teamwork aspect which i have been searching for forever. Also the kits are great for balance and forces more teamwork and cooperative action. I can see people being very selfish with the jets, helos, and whatever is flyable but now it's a minor problem in BFBC2. I use the UAV constantly unless someone is running toward it I'll stop stand still and see what he does, then either leave or take it. That is basically the golden rule that is probably going to be enforced in BF3. Hopefully. And also us Snipers are not useless, although alot of them are. i mark targets, give safe spawns in enemy territories, take out heavily occupied buildings or vehicles, and take out high priority targets to keep my squad and teammates safe. Take that guy!

not to much of a trailer if i do say so myself. I am a big fan of Bad Company 2, and i am really excited for this game, but this trailer is underwhelming.

Sadly, it won't be what it used to be.
Children playing Halo and Cowadooty will go out and by this game.swamping it with Jet whoring and useless snipers.
One can only hope Battlefield veterans from Battlefield 2 will own these kiddies so hard they'll be forced to quit.

just fyi to the people that are complaining about the 40 players on console compared to the 64 on pc and saying the systems can handle it:
It isn't about the system handling it, it is about having dedicated servers and consoles are so stuck on matchmaking which relies on your own internet and not a server's internet which can only support so many players. now if dedicated servers come then that means it would be cross platform which means pc's would own, absolutely own, console players and the development companies don't want that since they know it would kill console multiplayer for shooters as soon as players realized that pc mouse and keyboard is way better than a controller for shooters. hence why consoles will probably never get dedicated servers from cross platform games(notice the cross platform since mag is ps3 only).

i think the full battlefield reveal is in march, here's nto hoping they give details about the beta =D only reason i kept my medal of honor, and btw you need your disc for the beta, one of my mates sold it thnking you only needed the slip of paper, just so you all know, so if you want the beta keep your moh tier 1 or limited edition disc
