How many times has Feedback had the game of the week be a freaking console?! We didn't quite do it with the Nintendo 3DS, although we've talked circles around that unit. But we're definitely doing it with the Sony PSP 2 / NGP / OMGWTFBBQ. And why not? Sony is finally packing everything you could want into their handheld, portable game system, but is it enough? Are we still going to want one at launch?
You'll find out in this edition of Feedback with Adam Sessler, Matt Keil, Leah Jackson (not Lea Thompson, we're working on getting her) and myself Kevin Kelly (and no, I'm not Stephen Johnson). We also talk about the latest news, Leah spouts off about Rift where she's been powering through the beta, and the Starcraft 2 beta mods Left 2 Die, Starjeweled, and everyone's favorite Aiur Chef.
Feedback: Where you really have to work very, very very hard to nestle in our pockets next to some lint.

If I would pick a name for the new PSP I would call it" PSP Duel" or Duel PSP" Since its the the second new remodeled PSP and also has 2 analog sticks, but hey its just an idea

I think whatever Sony does end up calling it, will somehow convey in it's name that it is a portable version of the PS3. It seems like it'd be a lost opportunity at free marketing to not take that direction.

They will ALL get the PSP2 and they will be soooo excited about it. Hilarious Feedback. You made some valid points, but it's a year away. Trust me it will all work out. And will be amazing. Just breathe.

Personally I question where people primarily use a DS or PSP. I imagine if a study was done we would find out most of us play these items in our beds, during lunch break, or while watching the TV. So the idea of judging either the 3DS or the NGP based on its travel ability seems rather ludicrous to me for the US citizen.
Personally, I welcome the idea of buying a new game, installing it on my PS3 and then my NGP, and having a save game in the cloud that I can access from either device. If I can start a game on Uncharted: Drake's Deception and then have my work send me to another state away from my PS3, and continue the game I started, that would be badass. At the same time that functionality won't have a ton of use for me since I only travel maybe 6 times during the year. But if I'm playing an RPG where I need to grind a bit, putting a movie on in the PS3 while I grind on the NGP and then switching back for the big story moments sounds nice.
The key is going to be the price point and what games will be available. If PS3 games do not come with a digital copy with the hardcopy, then the NGP will not be worth it for the reasons stated above.
Personally, I care about the touch screens as much as I care about the 3D in the 3DS and as much as I care about the Kinect/Move/Wii, which is almost not at all. The point is both the 3DS and PSP can be used as normal gaming devices and therefore game developers can still make good games. DS games that make required use the touch screen annoy me. The iPhone's imprecise controls annoy me.
Also I've played the PSP1 not plugged in on about 50% of all the trips works sends me on. Typically it will last the plane ride and most of the drive (approximately 4-8 hours), which is just slightly less than the DS Lite that I own.

And you guys think calling the NGP a playstation is a good idea?! Going back to the same logic from last week's feedback can't you just see mothers saying, "How do you walk around with a playstation?! I'm going to go with a 3DS because, although I may not know if it is any different from the DS, DS excel or what have you, at the very least I know its a handheld system."
Also since we're talking hardware vs. price, I wouldn't be surprised if the NGP released an NGP lite that doesn't have 3G or sixaxis that is hundreds of dollars cheaper... I would buy that!

I have nothing against women, just the 4 women they try and jam down out throats. I like Morgan because she knows how to contribute to a show. Probably because she has her own. The others just either; add nothing to the show (Leah and Nikole), talk over everyone so we think they are smarter (Abbie), or are just blind fangirls who turn every conversation either against Sony/Nintendo or take every oppurtunity to tell us that Microsoft is better (Dana and to a smaller extent Nikole and that is only because she usually adds nothing to the show but an excess of carbon Dioxide.)
My issues are multiplied 100 fold when I go on the forum and all the horny teens get all moist over them. If you want to oogle girls hop on the interweb. I come to G4 for game stuff, not to oogle chicks elevated 4 numbers because they play Call of Duty.

im getting the 3ds because it looks really nice and i really want to play with the 3d and some of the features it does are really alluring to me but it is kind of pricey but my son already has a ds so this could be my ds as to the ngp i might get it but not at launch i learned my lesson with the first generation psps and well my phone does a lot of what it will do i know not the games but the touch screen the facebook-ish concepts the whole 3g oooohhhhhh not driving me all crazy for it until they release games i must play because nothing else out there has made it yet, until then im still in the hmmmmm stage.
