Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection will be available for the PSP on April 19th, 2011. In honor of FFIV's 20th anniversary, the collection will include Final Fantasy IV and the first packaged release of its sequel, THE AFTER YEARS. With brand new graphics, a re-arranged soundtrack, never-before-seen levels and a bonus game, this is going to be a treat for all FFIV and RPG lovers alike.
Final Fantasy IV follows the story of Cecil, Rosa, Kain, Rydia, and Edge as they try to stop the sorcerer Golbez from destroying the world. Way back in 1991, FFIV introduced the Active Time Battle system. What is your favorite Final Fantasy title?

Meh, I could care less. Don't get me completely wrong, all the PS FFs were a god send in my opinion for the RPG genre (FFT, FF7, FF8, and FF9). But out of all of them, FF9 was my least favorite.

Anyone who thinks the series has gone downhill since X clearly don't remember the crapfest that was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. I don't know what they were thinking when they made that game.

YES INDEED......I CAN'T WAIT. FINAL FANTASY IS THE BEST RPG FRANCHISE.

actually whichever one was on the SNES and had Sabin, Edgar, Shadow, Kefka, Cecil in it, I thought it was FFIII but I think it might be considered VI

FFVI is amazing. Kefka literally destroyes the world.
FFVII will always hold a place in my robo-heart.
FFX was incredibly linear compared to older titles but the story was fantastic.
Honorable Mentions
FFIX was fun but I hated the love story.
FFXII had awesome story, but I found combat a bit boring.

Is anyone upset they are keep putting these games on the psp and totally neglect the console? It would be awesome to play these games but I don't want to to buy a PSP for it.

children...take my advice and listen to the dude who's name bares reference to the legendary shining force (you know who you are). He knows what he's talking about. By the way...9 was the best as it was a beautiful send off from the origional team (1-7). 8 and every one that preceded 9, though some involved some pretty interesting and genuinely intuitive battle systems (13 i be lookin at you kid) all suffered from irritating characters that all deserved to be smashed by a comet...or meteor if you will and the stories were sufferable at best...actually, here's some food for thought and a real recommendation to anyone who missed it. Final Fantasy Tactics. best FF entry by far. And if you missed it and you have a ps3, it's one of the best 9.99 purchases on the PSN by far

I have played every game in the entire series, even the Game Boy ones, and VII is by FARRRRRRRRRR the best. When Aerith gets stabbed by Sephiroth, I literally cried. A close second is VI though, because Kefka may be the most bad ass clown in history: Poisoning rivers and extinguishing cities for no reason. Also, the Esper system laid the groundwork for Materia. But as stated in an above post, which is completely wrong, FF VII had nothing to do with being an impressionable youth, I had been playing rpg's for a decade at that point, the Materia system, Sephiroth, Jenova, how can you argue with the stark intelligence behind every minute detail of that game, Chocobo breeding, putting Hades as an added effect on your weapon, the list is endless. If you do not think VII is the best then you never beat the Emerald Weapon without a Gameshark you poser. Period.

god I just about own IV on just about everything now well own it on the PSP lol

My favorite Final Fantasy title will forever be Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy III U.S.) because that game in my opinion has a story, soundtrack, and world like no other. It is one of those games that you will find in the definition of a masterpiece.

Coming from somebody who has played every FF game from 1-13 (havn't tried 14 yet), FFVI was the best of the series hands down. Everything was epic in it as well as enjoyable with replay value. FFIV was a distant second. For me third would be the original FF on the NES., If you want challenge, go 4 white mages. Worst was X-2, then 12, then 13. They lost touch in what made the series so great.
Anyways, I am tired of seeing FFIV remade so many times. Or any game for that matter. Anniversary editions fine, I can live with that. If there is enough new content to make it worth while to buy the game once again. Also where is the love for FFVI? Granted I would have mixed feelings if that got updated, because of the play on how the game used the 16-bit graphics was entertaining. Plus the original music score has to remain in tact, however if they can pull off a current Gen remake of the game (without screwing with it!!), I believe it would be a huge hit with FF fans. Even with those who think the likes of FFVII is the best *coughs*. When in fact it is one of the most overrated games (even though it was decent at best) just because the first one to be made for the Playstation.

FFIV was my first FF when I got it for Christmas on the GBA a while back, so it will always have a special place in my heart. I never had much incentive to get TAY do to only being available for Wii. It's nice that I'll be able to play it on handheld. Hopefully it'll hold the same magic IV gave me when I first played it years ago.
