Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance screeshots released this week show Riku and Sora wearing clothes from Kingdom Hearts 1, before they grew up in Kingdom Hearts 2. This has lead to some confusion amongst KH fans on whether or not Dream Drop Distance would be an original title or a remake. Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in a recent interview with Famitsu they were dressed in their old clothes for a specific reason, a reason he was not ready to reveal. He also acknowledged the screenshots might lead to confusion about how original KH:DDD is and is considering changing their outfits half-way into the game.
Nomura went on to clear up more confusion stating Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, formerly known as Kingdom Hearts 3D, is not Kingdom Hearts 3. Dream Drop Distance does not have a release date but will be a Nintendo 3DS exclusive.
