Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance screeshots released this week show Riku and Sora wearing clothes from Kingdom Hearts 1, before they grew up in Kingdom Hearts 2. This has lead to some confusion amongst KH fans on whether or not Dream Drop Distance would be an original title or a remake. Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in a recent interview with Famitsu they were dressed in their old clothes for a specific reason, a reason he was not ready to reveal. He also acknowledged the screenshots might lead to confusion about how original KH:DDD is and is considering changing their outfits half-way into the game.

Nomura went on to clear up more confusion stating Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, formerly known as Kingdom Hearts 3D, is not Kingdom Hearts 3. Dream Drop Distance does not have a release date but will be a Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

For those who don't keep up with the KH news should know that it was mentioned by Nomura before that KH3D happens after Re:Coded and will lead in to KH3 in the timeline.
Also, the only worlds returning for KH3D are the original worlds, like Traverse Town. All the Disney's worlds in KH3D are all new never used in KH series yet, one of them is possibly to be from "The Hutchback of Notre Dame"
Also KH fans should wonder about the other possible KH game that was hinted in the secret episode/ending of BbS final mix, which BbS vol. 2
