Heavy Rain Interview: Quantic Dream's David Cage

There have been few video games as well-suited to the screen as last year's PS3 exclusive adventure game Heavy Rain. Heay Rain: The Movie just makes intuitive sense; after all, the video game was heavy on the mood, characters, plot and atmosphere, and light on what most consider gameplay. Anyway, it's happening. David Milch is signed on to adapt the movie based on the game, to apparently be called simply "Rain," with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne producing through  Unique Features.

Milch was the creator and executive producer of NYPD Blue and Deadwood, so the guy know how to create quality drama.

"David Milch's incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on Heavy Rain," Shaye said

While I like Heavy Rain, and like the series created by Milch even more, I still predict this movie will be terrible. Why, you ask? Because movies based on video games are always terrible, and I'm just hedging my bets.
