Insomniac Games today revealed the first details for Resistance: A Hole in the Sky, a new novel from sci-fi author William C. Dietz that will serve as a narrative link between Resistance 2 and the upcoming Resistance 3.
Hole in the Sky tells the story of Resistance 3 protagonist Joseph Capelli following the events of the previous game, and leads directly into the beginning of R3. Del-Rey Books is publishing the novel, which will hit shelves this summer.

This will be the second Resistance book from Dietz. Resistance: The Gathering Storm was released in 2009, and bridged the gap between Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. Dietz has also written game novels for other notable franchises such as Halo (Halo: The Flood) and Hitman (Hitman: Enemy Within).
Resistance 3 will be available on PlayStation 3 September 6, 2011.
Has anyone read the first Resistance novel? Think you’ll pick up the new one?

I'm interested in the Resistance story but after reading his adaptation of Halo: Combat Evolves, I will probably pass. It bored me pretty hard. Are the other books worth reading? I know Fall of Reach was amazing, so I would give the series a chance.

I will definitely pick it up. I am usually not the type that reads fiction novels but I cant resist, (pun intended) being such a big Resistance fan and all. Hopefully Resistance 3 really lives up to the story, even though RFOM was epic Resistance 2 always felt lacking.
