The Killzone 3 beta will be open to the public on February 2 and will last until February 15. That gives you two weeks to test four of the multiplayer modes before Killzone 3's release on February 22. The beta will be available exclusively on the PlayStation Network. Keep reading for more information on the multiplayer modes.
NEWS: Get SOCOM 4 Multiplayer Beta Access When You Buy Killzone
The four multiplayer modes available in the Killzone 3 open beta are Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone, Operations, and Botzone. Guerrilla Warfare is a 16 player mode similar to class Team Deathmatch. Warzone is a 24 player mode and was included in Killzone 2. It consists of five random mini-missions. Operations is a 16 player mode and is new to the series. It promises to be a more dramatic, story based mode using linear mini-mission. Botzone pits one player against 15 bots and is considered offline multiplayer.

I've played the Beta and it rules. I didn't think I would like Killzone 3 more than Bulletstorm, but now I'm definetly buying this over bulletstorm. Mainly because of the multiplayer, but the single player campaign looks epic too.

This might be me being a nuisance, but does it really need to say for PSN? Thats like saying Halo beta for XBL only. Sorry, it bugged me.

This looks pretty cool. Do you have to play past Killzone games to understand what's going on? Or does it not matter?

I was in the closed beta, and it was quite good. Large maps, jetpacks, but I was disappointed that the MOVE controller wasn't supported for the closed beta. I guess it made sense. They were apparently primarily just stress testing the servers, but I really hope the open beta does support it. I'd really like to try their MOVE support before sinking $ into the game.

i did not like killzone2 at all, so i am not sure if i should try this one. looks exactly the same as the game before it. The campaign for killzone2 was mediocre and boring. the the online was interesting for like maybe 1 month. i am not a xbox fanboy just an opinion, i do own a ps3 and love resistance2 and metal gear solid4. much better games than killzone2

I played the closed beta & it was a whole mess of fun even though there was no support for PS Move. Fortunately, this new beta does in fact support PS Move so I'm very much looking forward to trying it out.

Yes Open to the Public this is how i choose what games to buy when they do Beta's or Demo's now to see if its a good game to buy or not.
