Remember back in June, when a mysterious Mortal Kombat short film appeared? It was really good, but it didn't represent a reboot of the series. Instead, it was, basically, a fan-film, made as a test video shot to persuade Warner Bros. Pictures to go a certain direction in their long-planned reboot of the franchise. A great plan, and a great plan that looks like it worked.
According to a post on Bloody-Disgusting, the short film's director Kevin Tancharoen has been cleared to shoot a 10-episode Mortal Kombat web series. It stars star Michael Jai "Spawn" White as Major Jackson "Jax" Brigg. Shooting will begin in February and will take place in Vancouver.
No word yet on the rest of the casting, or when it will come out, but "Not soon enough" is good guess. Check out the "Source" link below for the original video.

I'll settle for a web series. I'll settle for a post modern adaptation that doesn't extend my suspension of belief so far into the fantasy realm as the MK:A film did. The first film was very decent (as far as video game to film adaptations go). This trailer looks like it wanted to establish some ground to work on and there is a lot that can come from it... IF it's done right! Please make this an enjoyable foray into the franchise!!!

there is nothing better than a mini series. They can take it so far and last so long, bringing in so many aspect of the story colliding together with time, making it just awesome. I am looking forward to this.

I don't see why people are so smitten over this adaptation. Baraka is terrible.

i think it will be great to have a mini series of MK. as long as its done good and they don't start screwing up the characters. i like how they did Baraka except 2 problems he wasn't black and didn't have hair. i know there going with realistic on Mk which is cool, but you gotta add some parts of the real game in their. like if jacks doesn't get cybernetic arms or have some kind of thing going on with his arms, than the show is pointless epic fail. i hope the best for the series if they make it, but if they screw up to much, than its another pointless game adaption.
