Sega just announced an interesting throwback collection for fans of the classic DreamCast console. The DreamCast Collection will contain four games, and will be available for the 360 and the PC on February 25, 2011, in Europe and February 22 in North America. "What are the four games?" you are probably asking.
- Sonic Adventure
- Crazy Taxi
- SEGA Bass Fishing
- Space Channel 5: Part 2
The Collection features enhanced graphics, achievements and online leaderboards for each game, just to keep things up-to-date.
While these are all solid games (well, I'm not sure about Bass Fishing), I'm not sure that particular collection is a good representation of the best the DreamCast had to offer. Where's Jet Set Radio? Where's Shenmue? Also, not to look a game-gift horse in the mouth, but only four games? Really? I'm no technical genius, but I have to imagine you could cram a couple more games on that DVD...
Let me stop bitching. The only real reason I'm complaining is because I love the DreamCast, and I just want the best for anything with that name on it. I'll still pick this up. What about you?

I figured there wouldn't be many games because of the antiquated medium of DVDs, but 4 is still pretty low. I wouldn't mind a blu ray PS3 release with a better selection of games.

Only 4 games? I was expecting about 10. After the amazing Genesis collection Sega released, I would have expected Dreamcast classics like ChuChu Rocket, Skies of Arcadia, and as Stephen mentioned Shenmue.

Or simply go on eBay and get a real dreamcast system and games for the potential cost of this one 4 game disc. Just sayin
