Space Channel 5

Sega just announced an interesting throwback collection for fans of the classic DreamCast console. The DreamCast Collection will contain four games, and will be available for the 360 and the PC on February 25, 2011, in Europe and February 22 in North America. "What are the four games?" you are probably asking.

  • Sonic Adventure
  • Crazy Taxi
  • SEGA Bass Fishing
  • Space Channel 5: Part 2

The Collection features enhanced graphics, achievements and online leaderboards for each game, just to keep things up-to-date.

While these are all solid games (well, I'm not sure about Bass Fishing), I'm not sure that particular collection is a good representation of the best the DreamCast had to offer. Where's Jet Set Radio? Where's Shenmue? Also, not to look a game-gift horse in the mouth, but only four games? Really? I'm no technical genius, but I have to imagine you could cram a couple more games on that DVD...

Let me stop bitching. The only real reason I'm complaining is because I love the DreamCast, and I just want the best for anything with that name on it. I'll still pick this up. What about you?

I will not buy a Sega game until they release Shenmue 3. Release it as an OVA or something. Play thorough Shenmue 2 just to get a cliffhanger.

Lmao, they thought Sonic Adventure was good enough to get the product sold alone. Stupid Sega...

Sure, it was a beast game (to me), but it's long too late. I already have it on Ps3. Which reminds me...

BETTER BE SOMETHING BETTER FOR THE PS3!!! lol

Wow. crazy taxi is every where, sega bass fishing has evolved and after sonic 2 they all kind of suck. I'd like to see Skys of arcadia, RE:Code veronica, Phantasy star online, and the one game that's turn based RPG where the butler makes food and has a gun, and the main guy has a big mech hand(I'm sure I'll think of the name later). Then stuff at least 5 more games on the disc or make it a 2 disc collection because the games are old and in Dreamcast dollars, 60$ would have gotten us 2 new games anyway. I got to go shake my Dreamcast untill it reads my disk............

No Jet Grind Radio is fail. And I think that they are missing Sonic Adventure 2. And we already have Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure on the marketplace so I really guess the only two "new" games are Bass Fishing (woohoo * sarcasm*) and Space Channel which is a good game. But seriously this could of been so much better.

I love the Dreamcast, but seriously only these 4 games...2 of which are available for download currently. Why not put out games that havent been re-released yet. Like Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Draconus, Sword of the Berzerk, Evolution, Power Stone or one of 100+ more that are amazing!

Take out Sega Bass Fishing and replace it with Sonic Adventure 2. Seriously, no one wants to play a fishing game unless the achievements are easy.

    Jet Grind Radio
    Power Stone
    Shenmue
    Crazy Taxi

There is 4 games that covers the best Dreamcast had to offer. If you wanna throw in a fish game, include Seaman and allow that game to be Kinect capable. That would be a collection I'll pay good money for. But I already downloaded Crazy Taxi to my Xbox arcade so maybe throw in Sonic as a filler.

That's a pretty sucky set. Why only four games? Other collections sets have had something like 20 games...

No JSR, no Power Stone, no Shenmue...No sale.
I still have Shenmue 2 and JSRF and occasionally play those on my 360.
Also have JSR, Shenmue, and Power Stone stashed away somewhere...but my Dreamcast has been long dead and I am still waiting for the day that I can play those games again.

I keep thinking they should just remake Seamen and give it kinect support (make it a downloadable title)

    Dear Sega,

Please just release Shining Force III (all scenarios translated)

I shall pay you money for this on any console.

Also, Powerstone brings back memories of playing Dreamcast demos in game stores as a kid. Ahhh memories.

Wow, after the Sonic one this is all they can do? The DC was great but this is a poor collection. Especially since we got SA on PSN not too long ago.
