The upcoming 2012 Spider-Man reboot film still may not even have a title, but Sony Pictures has nevertheless revealed the first look at star Andrew Garfield in his new wall-crawling pajamas! For this film, whose mere existence has been a heated point of debate among fans after plans for Sam Raimi's fourth Spider-Man effort fell through, the question of how director Marc Webb would distinguish this film may have gotten its first clue with the new image. Would the (500) Days of Summer director take Spidey on a self-fascinated, hipster-ish, emo romp in the Big Apple? Or an intense, over-the-top, gritty rollercoaster of triumph and tragedy? Spidey's clearly beaten to hell, here. There's sort of a serpentine quality to this version of the costume, and with Garfield's arms looking long, it's also alien-like. In fact, it sort of reminds me of the pics of Tomar-Re from Green Lantern.

Ive been reading into this and this neew series supposidly follows the Ultimate Spidey story and gives it a more grittier style kind of like the new batman movies so all i can do is wait til i see it with fingersc crossed.

Hope its not going to be to dark. But I liked (500) Days of Summer so I think he will probably be able to handle the emotional side without coming off to overly dramatic. Which is why I like Spiderman, it's light and fun but still accessible to all ages .

Just one question...Whats that on his wrist...are those metal discs....are those Web Shooters...NO WAY!!!! that alone sells it for me to at least give it a shot..Im Excited!!!!

I think that everything looks fine... if the movie is going to completely retell the Spider-Man's origin and the movie takes place during Peter Parker's Teenage years.

Already with the hate haha. He looks fine and this movie is slated to next year. Plenty of time to get alittle larger. He doesn't even look emo hipster to me. His hair is wet and his face is bruised and you can barely see his face to begin with.
To all those people out there hating on this. You don't look any better I'm guessing. He looks good and closer inspection shows a good muscle tone.
Before jumping to conclusions like a stupid human try using your brain and look at the picture, not a glance and immediately have Twilight on the mind. If that's what you think after one picture then maybe you're the fan.

I think they are making him a freshmen in this film hence the younger smaller cast type. with that seid i really wish film makers would come up with ther own ideas they way it used to be rather then following this trend of remakes, or reboots or whatever you want to call them also if your going to do this movie guys it would be cool if you came up with an origanle charcter.
