First Look At Spider-Man With Andrew Garfield

The upcoming 2012 Spider-Man reboot film still may not even have a title, but Sony Pictures has nevertheless revealed the first look at star Andrew Garfield in his new wall-crawling pajamas! For this film, whose mere existence has been a heated point of debate among fans after plans for Sam Raimi's fourth Spider-Man effort fell through, the question of how director Marc Webb would distinguish this film may have gotten its first clue with the new image. Would the (500) Days of Summer director take Spidey on a self-fascinated, hipster-ish, emo romp in the Big Apple? Or an intense, over-the-top, gritty rollercoaster of triumph and tragedy? Well, not to say that one picture answers all of that, but it certainly makes a statement about where this film may be heading. Click the read more to see the new Spidey in all his glory.

First Look At Spider-Man With Andrew Garfield

Spidey's clearly beaten to hell, here. There's sort of a serpentine quality to this version of the costume, and with Garfield's arms looking long, it's also alien-like. In fact, it sort of reminds me of the pics of Tomar-Re from Green Lantern.

What do you guys think?

I am agreeing with richard.theshrink no one should make huge conclusions with only one photo. And has anybody been following the recent Ultimate Comics Spiderman, his has become more younger as well as a little "weight of the world on his soldiers" Remember 9/11 and Ultimatum have changed the original Spiderman. So seeing as they have casted a younger actor for this role I feel that they are going on the lines of Ultimate Spiderman and staying away from the Amazing Spiderman, that Raimi was concentrating on. So people keep an open mind because so far I feel that this film is going to be a surprising reboot.

Sam Raimi got it right the first time, the second time, and to be honest went a little overboard on the third run, but a reboot this soon is not the answer Sony, and following this same trend of time travel is the Xmen kickback. And I dont like Mr. Tumness trying to be my Charles Xavier.
Flops based on Comic books in the next year.

Green Lantern (90's batman of the new millenium?)
Spidey (you can see the sparkle in the photo...)
All Xmen (& origin)sequels and prequels (no more, just no.)
Thor (red headed step child of the Avengers movies)

The new Spidey looks so young. Colombia Pictures could've used Tobey Maguire just one more time! He aint that old!

Some of you classless morons clearly don't know:
    1. Who Peter Parker REALLY is and why his character is significant/"amazing."
    2. What "emo" IS or how it LOOKS.

This new guy does NOT look emo. He looks lanky and nerdy, yes... That's how Peter Parker is SUPPOSED to look. But he doesn't look unfit.
Either way... I'm not a fan of the costume. I prefer the old one, in all honestly... But, I'll wait to see how this all plays out when we see some motion-picture.

I think this reboot will be good. Andrew Garfield's a great, young actor and has a lot of potential. I just hope he's better than Tobey.

LAME. The real Spiderman was built. This guy is scrawny.

The suit looks promising. I'm keeping an open mind until I see a trailer or at least some action pics. The new suit design looks badass though

I think this looks great. Love the beat to hell suit hinting at an intense battle. Never liked toby maguire, hopefully Garfield can bring life to the character

Ahh nope. Spidey was always supposed to be nerdy and skinny but super strong. He only got muscular in the first movies version courtesy of Raimi's idea. You people comparing this to Twilight apparently know nothing of Spidey if you're expecting him to be bulky and huge. Venom yes. Spidey no. What worries me is him just walking down a street with his mask off. Why do Spidey movies always have to have him taking his mask off?
