THQ's Danny Bilson Reveals Homefront 2 In The Works

At a THQ press event in New York, executive vice president Danny Bilson confirmed that there will indeed be a Homefront 2, which reaffirms THQ's dedication to this new IPWhile Homefront hasn't even come out yet, the company was quite vocal about the plans for DLC and an eventual sequel in 2009, a fact that they confirmed again back at E3. The fact that a sequel is in the works seemingly points to the fact that you won't quite be repelling the entire North Korean invaders in the first game, which is out on March 8.

The developers have talked about the game model lending itself easily to other locales, like London, potentially creating a series with long legs, building a franchise like Call of Duty for THQ. We'll have more details and the full interview with Bilson soon, so stay tuned for more information.

HOMEFRONT 1 a huge failure for the customer, not their pocket book. nobody should even consider part 2 when they haven't even made the first FFOW....I mean HOMEFRONT work right yet. I wouldn't even consider DLC for the first, yet alone part 2. Save your money

I don't understand why anyone is complaining about this. Of course developers are looking to the future of their company. This shows great confidence in their new IP. Mass Effect was announced as a planned trilogy and that has only helped the franchise. No one complained about that. Bioshock sequel wasnt planned and that limited the story that could be told in 2. I love an epic multi game story arc, and now Homefront can move from a game to a franchise.

Whoever saying its desperate and sad that THQ announced this, Activision releases a piece of crap COD every year and everyone gets a hard on over those garbage games. quit being hypocrites. At least this game has a story unlike the waste of money cods.

Have the first one set in America, the second one set in UK. tie the two stories together with killer DLC that can be played from either game.

This is like getting pregnant before you have even given birth to the first one.

I think the game looks awesome but what if it does bad are they just going to release Homefront 2 because by the time they know for sure if the 1st was a failure(hope it isn't) they will probably be done with the second. They may be taking a big risk with this one. Hope it pays off.

There is probably no one more excited than me about Homefront. Having said that, I think they are jumping the gun way to early to be announcing Homefront 2. I don't care if they are working on it behind closed doors, I don't want to know about it without getting my hands on the first one for a while. That's like someone saying Still Life is going to be so awesome we made Still Life 2 before Still Life is even released. Now the developers were stuck with a sequel to please no one. Of the 2 people that bought Still Life, 0 bought Still Life 2.

This also happened with GT5. I believe this game has potential, but I'm waiting for the reviews to come out before I buy it.

they can do the sequel like the L4D series & give both games awesome DLC weave the two into a story by playing them together

Am I the only one who thinks that if they finished the game early they should spend their time MAKING THE GAME BETTER? I mean really, no matter what, their game is going to have bugs, so they should be taking this extra time to find and squash them. They should be doing more testing to make sure the weapon balance works, and when they're done with that they should be making more multiplayer maps, because seriously, nothing screams good multiplayer like having a lot of maps so that the game doesn't die out quickly.

The fact that they've already finished the game, and enough of the DLC to have started making a SECOND game before the release of the first just makes me think that Homefront is going to have terrible support after it's released. It seems like THQ are going to release the game and then dive right in to making a sequel, forgetting about any problems that the original may have.

This really does not bod well for me. I'd much rather have a single solid game from them than an entire series that's poorly supported with bugs and balance issues that never get ironed out.
