Battlefield 3 To Be Officially Announced At GDC 2011

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

The yet-to-be announced Battlefield 3 will finally be revealed by EA at this year's GDC. EA confirmed they will be having an unveiling event on March 1, 2011 during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Gamers who bought Medal of Honor may have noticed the game came with an exclusive invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. There have been no new details about when the planned beta will begin.

Is an announcement event for a game we already know about necessary? Are you looking forward to Battlefield 3?

Battlefield 3 does not have a release date but the optimistic believe it will be out in late 2011.

lets hope it goes back to something like bf2 were you could lean around a corner to see what you could be walkinb into and be able to go prone i miss that in the new first person shooter they are makeing now a days. and to the guy that thinks this is a COD clone battlefield b2 came out 2 years before COD 4 witch makes COD and BF CLONE and not a good what at that( COD 4 was good but the last 2 what a pile of crap)

MW3 wont be good. plus i think its going to be a prequel to COD4 and will take another perspective of both MW and MW2.

I bet it gets pushed into Spring 2012. Too many games coming out this holiday already. It would have to compete with Rage, Uncharted 3, Elder Scrolls V, and probably MW3.

It's coming out for consoles so I don't care. The last Battlefield game that came out multi-platform was watered down, had no planes, no commander ability, no artillery support and didn't have a lot of stuff that made Battlefield 2 great.

Even after almost a year out, I still find BF2 very entertaining and gratifying. I still wish those damn snipers got off their asses and contributed more to the cause. ; )

If this iteration of BF is a superior engined remake/reimaging of the old, related titles (BF2, BF2: SF, BF2142), I'm very interested and sincerely hope for the best. I've not played BF:BC 1/2 as I need to upgrade my rig, but I just might if this game is promising.

I loved the old BF2 games (BF2, BF2: SF, BF2142) and still play them on PC once in a while. If this iteration is going to be something akin to those games but with a superior engine, I'm all for it.

I'm not good at battlefield, so I don't like it. And, dealing with the hackers in BF is way more annoying than the CoD hax. If I'm going to go for realism, I'd rather just take the time to get in with a group on one of the PC sim shooters.

I ve talked to my friends about being excited for this game and it really surprises me how many people don t know that the Bad Company line of Battlefields were separate from Battlefield 1 and 2.

loved Bad Company 1&2, hopefully this continues the great vehicle gameplay that COD doesn't provide

Used to be a cod fan with mw2. but back ops isnt only a bad game, it killed mw2. so i went to bc2 and found something amazing. DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENTS. finally something good. oh and it has vehicles not just bad maps where you race motorcycles.

I thought Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was a great alternative to the glitchtastic MW2 . I understand the game play inst everyone's cup of tea but sniping i guy while adjusting to range is great .
