Just Dance 2 Surpasses 5 Million Units Sold Worldwide

Ubisoft’s rhythm-based, Wii sequel (Wiiquel?) Just Dance 2 has achieved a rather impressive feat by selling over 5 million copies worldwide since its release last October.

"The Just Dance franchise has revitalized the video game music category with consumers worldwide joining the dance movement. Players of all ages are enjoying the social and physical benefits of playing Just Dance 2 as it's truly a game that is accessible and enjoyable for everyone," said Ubisoft’s North American senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Keya.

The Just Dance franchise, which includes Just Dance, Just Dance 2, and Just Dance Kids, has sold a combined 10 million units worldwide to date, and was the third biggest franchise in 2010. Crazy, no? Other music game series might be taking a hit these days, but clearly Ubisoft is doing something extremely right, and the fact that the games are Wii exclusives is even more impressive.

I have to admit that i wasn't so sure about Just Dance because i actually do dance for fun, so just random moves that apparently look good, but once i did had the wiimote in hand, i just felt easy to adjust to just///well dance lol i very much enjoyed it and it did bring my family together in the same room. laughing, playing, and just having a good time and feel music differently then other music based games.

This game is great. Great as in watching your family and friends make fools of themselves in the living room. Honestly though the game does look pretty smooth, especially in comparison to some other Wii dance titles. Not that I advocate dance games anyway. My sister, brother and their friends enjoy the game and thats enough for me.

My nephew got Just Dance 2 for the Wii and it's the 1st time in about 4 years that his siblings, mom and dad, uncles, and grandparents all played the Wii at the same time (well, same sitting anyway). I see the attraction of it and it really is fun to play.
