Nintendo Reveals 3DS First Look Titles

As news from the Nintendo World conference rolls in we can't help but get excited about all the games Japan will be getting. The American release dates for these games haven't been announced but some of them won't be coming to America at all. It's common that Japan has exclusive games that never come stateside but dedicated gamers just buy the imports. Sadly if the current rumors are true the Nintendo 3DS won't be able to play imported games.

A member of Nintendo's Japanese support staff allegedly sent out an email revealing a feature that will region-lock the device. If this is true your 3DS would only be able to play games approved for your territory.

“There are no Region codes in DS and DS Lite, but DSi, DSi [XL], and 3DS have region codes. The region codes are installed in each game and the 3DS itself. … You can’t play if the region codes are different. For example, if you play a Korean 3DS game with a Japanese 3DS system (or vice versa), you won’t be able to play at all.”

Are there any games you were hoping to import?
