Sub-boss Goro and secret character Jade are the latest characters to be added to Mortal Kombat's roster of fighters. Surprisingly I think both characters wear the same amount of clothing. They were confirmed by the series co-creator Ed Boon in the current issue of Game Informer magazine. In the interview Ed also touches upon having an Xbox 360 exclusive character to counter the PS3 exclusive Kratos. More after the break.
The God of War himself has already been confirmed for Mortal Kombat as a PS3 exclusive playable character. Naturally we all assumed there would be an Xbox 360 exclusive character as well. Ed Boon denied this by saying a Xbox 360 character was currently not planned but he did mention the possibility for more characters through DLC.
Goro is definitely one of the game's most memorable characters, probably because of his giant size and four arms. He's been described as a 2,000 year old half human-dragon. Yes, that apparently works. He appeared in the first Mortal Kombat game as well as Mortal Kombat 4, MK: Deadly Alliance, MK: Armageddon and a few others.
Jade was first a secret unplayable character in Mortal Kombat 2 and didn't become playable until Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Her backstory says she has been a friend of Kitana's since childhood and was an assassin for Shao Kahn along with Kitana and Mileena for most of her life.
Mortal Kombat does not have a confirmed release date but many speculate it will be out this April for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Definitely would like to see MK3 and UMK3 Kabal, MK2-3 Shang Tsung, Robot Smoke from MK Triology & UMK3, Baraka, Sheeva. Rain and Ermac but they need alot of work on their abilities and fatalities.

OK, I could've sworn that while watching an X-Play re-run one night, I saw that the release date for Mortal Kombat was confirmed for April 19th on the FEED ticker. Was that wrong? None the less, I'm still looking forward to this. Especially seeing as how I own a PS3, and can play as Kratos in Mortal Kombat. Once I heard that, this was a day numero uno purchase for me.
