Well, you can stop sending me all those carrier pigeons asking, “When will someone make a feature-length machinima using Grand Theft Auto IV?” because a French filmmaker named Mathieu Weschler has done it. The film is called The Trashmaster, it took two years to make, and it stars GTA IV star Niko Bellic as a garbage man who “divides his time between collecting garbage and cleaning up other forms of trash fouling up New York City’s streets.” Soon, a serial killer emerges, and Niko takes it upon himself to take out the stripper-slaying madman.
I haven’t had a chance to watch the whole movie, but from what I’ve seen, the action is well choreographed, and it has a super odd voiceover. It’s an impressive feat, though, so definitely check it out:

I actually watched the entire thing - advertisements and all and Wow. Considering this was made all with a video game, I am impressed. I have never played the game, and yes - the voice acting and story leave something to be desired as far as "blockbuster" action movies go, but the effort is commendable. I would recommend this movie to film students, not movie critics.

This is a good idea and the onscreen presentation was good just the voice acting and the choice of spoken dialogue he made sounds like a 10 yr old made it was unbearable for me to watch at anout 30 minutes i stopped none the less it was ok.

Some people are just easier to please than others... or perhaps some of you don't want to admit that this wasn't that great because, like me, you love GTA4. I commend the guy for his efforts, but the end result just wasn't that great. Poor voice acting, mediocre plot and obnoxiously drug-out scenes. Maybe he intended on that as filler to stretch the movie to fit an hour and a half, but it makes it unbearable to watch at times. I had to watch in three parts because one solid viewing would have led me to not even complete the movie. I agree with the other guy, a C+, and that even debatable.

This was the best GTA4 Machinima movie ever!!!

In all seriousness, After seeing this, I can honestly say that it was a mediocre attempt at a good story. Main complaints:
-Horrible voice acting
-Story line aimed to be a "typical hollywood thriller"
-There was a lot of lame cutscenes that had no relevance or necessity in the script
Overall, I would give this a solid C+. The idea was good, but the execution, not so much

in all seriousness, this was a good effort, but I see this as a very poor story, with mediocre at best voice acting. The Dialog could have been improved as well. All together, I'd Give this gem a solid C+

nice. however if i may make some constructive criticism, my one complaint (other than the voice acting) would be he needs to learn how to edit. and by edit, i mean know when to cut the length of scenes that drag on. sometimes you need to sacrifice footage to make a better film. just because the average movie is an hour and a half long, doesnt mean this has to be.

when they put ads before a video you want to see its like they're saying "Hey go look at something else on the internet for 20 more seconds before coming back to watch this."

This was really great. The cinematography is really commendable especially for someone having to make do with a video game. The voice is really weird but that is pretty good for a French person.

Wow that was epic....Rockstar is purchasing the rights to this for DLC as we speak haha

Damn, about time something good came of GTA IV. Mad props to the guy who did this, and to G4, Daily Motion for the HD feed.

Now someone do that with multiplayer red dead.

well done, the story was odd but still enjoyable

I really really wanted to watch this but I can't stand the guy talking...he makes it unbearable no matter how much I like GTA IV

Dang the movie is one hour and 30mins that's insane for a Machinima but is there another place to watch it because watching videos on G4 is extremely laggy they should really redo their site so it's not so resource demanding its like the site runs off of flash or something.
