Can there be a be all end all game? Like the case with the empirer strikes back. Were if you don't like star war the mogerty thinks it a good movie. Can a video game do that were people who don't play hardcore games but by word of mouth makes it even more manisteam?

I'm just as excited as the next gamer for all of the amazing AAA titles coming out this year. However, most of the games on my must-buy list are sequels, with many of those being the third installment in a given series. I love properties like Uncharted, Gears and Mass Effect, but it struck me that developers are much more keen this console cycle to produce sequels every few years (or every year in some cases) because they know they have a fanbase clamoring for more. While the aforementioned titles were all original IPs at the start of this console cycle, both creative and full of risks, they are sort of the standard now and have set standards for other games (GOW's cover system, for example).

Why do you think developers are less keen to risk it all on full-length games that are new IPs? It seems the PSN originals and XBLA originals are the games that developers are willing to take risks on and innovate with (Stacking and Limbo come to mind). Do you think it's all about cost? On the last console cycle, and especially in regards to the PS2, the library always seemed immense and full of new creative works. While that meant there was a lot of junk to wade through at times it also gave rise to the possibility of finding a gem, like Ico, Beyond Good & Evil or even Katamari Damacy.

I guess what it comes down is whether or not the gaming community is more interested in innovative risks or, given the cost of gaming these days, knowing exactly what they are paying for and ensuring a good time. What are your thoughts? Would you rather see steady releases of already proven franchises with smaller gameplay innovations or otherwise, or do you want to see more risks and unique niche titles resurfacing not just as downloadable games but as full-length releases?

So you guys spent a lot of time in the last few episodes talking about how you are tired of sequels and the monotony of playing the same game, with small upgrades, over and over again. I agree with this, and honestly with being someone who isnt of the highest income, like most. I get exhausted withing having to give up the games i love to try and decide which of the new constant horde of games to throw my 60 dollars at.

My question is, do you see us going in a direction where, like with games such as WoW or even borderlands to an extent. Where instead of a sequel, they merely keep evolving the game with dlc and expansions.

Anyone that played world of warcraft in the beginning and still does now knows that it is not the same game, and in my opinion, this is the best way to go. You get to stick with what you love, but you get the refreshment and evolution of a new game.

Do you think Rockstar's Agent will be released this year or in 2012?

would love to know if were ever going to see a merge in all consoles company's working together, because it sounds like from CES everyone is saying the same thing. Bring all entertainment to our console, why not just find a way to work together and have one console and let everyone enjoy every game, take the positives from all systems, graphics from 360, blue-ray and free internet service(+ paid service for the other perks Netflicks, ESPN. and avatar chat/ movies, let the multi player be free unless its experience, or contest)

games should be enjoyed and not fought over, like what is happening with fall of duty. We would be light years ahead of where we are now, and I'm sure a lot better games

All the previews I've seen of the 3DS have been great and it sounds like it is going to be a great leap forward in hand held gaming. The one thing that worries me is if the 3DS comes out for around $300 or so and I pick one up I'd be really upset if a few months later I hear a 3DSI or a 3DS XL is going to be released. Do you think this could be a problem?

How long does it typically take to make a AAA game? From when they pitch the idea to when the game in on store shelves.

Looking ahead at the releases of 2011 and if you go by the notion that the 3rd game means the end of the series, you'll notice a lot of franchises are actually ending this year (potentially) with Gears of War, Resistance, Mass Effect, a new Modern Warfare, Uncharted and Killzone all getting the finale treatment. If that is the case, would you want these developers to make a new IP, bring out a new installment of one of their exisiting IP's or just keep continuing making games in that franchise?

I'm a big Infamous fan got really excited after hearing about InFamous comics coming out that bridge infamous1 and 2. I was wondering if you guys were also excited at all and if you think that suckerpunch should release an Infamous2 demo on PSN that includes both of the gameplay trailers. And if Uncharted3 is in fact coming out in 3d, do you think that a possible uncharted pack is coming out in just 3d?

My question is about difficulty settings in games. Almost all games seem to have them, which allows different kinds of gamers to choose a setting which fits to their own play style. With the relatively recent addition of trophies or achievements, do you think that some gamers are being pressured into playing games on a harder setting than they would choose otherwise? It seems like the days of having difficulty levels that can be chosen without consequence are on the decline, similarly to how less and less games are having cheat codes. I can think of one game though, for example, Fallout: New Vegas, which has a difficulty slider that has no effect on trophies, achievements, or gameplay besides making the game easier or harder. Do gamers these days really need an incentive to set the difficulty to "hard" besides gratification? What are your opinions?

    Thanks!

I was really hoping that thousands of children this year would lose their eye sight because of the 3DS. Too bad. Anyways do you guys have to review shovel-ware that you know is going to be horrible or do you pick the titles that garner more attention by the viewers?

For a while now Microsoft has been releasing and adding on to the Xbox to make it more family friendly, and with the announcement Avatar Kinect, it seems like Microsoft is leaving the hardcore gamers behind. I mean we all love have Netflix and ESPN, but the last two dashboard updates have been more child like in tone. Then there are the avatars, which are cool but to hardcore players like myself, serve no real purpose. While Kinect is very cool, there are no hardcore games, unless you count dance central, so do you believe that Microsoft ins't supporting the hardcore base that made their system what it is today, where as Sony's Move and game line-up supports hardcore games* that are starting to draw more people towards them.

*note i didnt say the hardcore games were good, but they are still utilizing the move.

With CES giving birth to even more controller free camera's and software. Will controller free gaming fully concrete the belief that it is a realistic and viable way to play video games? Or will the lack of revolutionary games designed from the ground up for motion gaming hinder the concept and eventually have consumers loose interest and pick up the controller again? I understand that the idea of playing Gears of War or Forza without a standard controller is neat, but is it actually better?

I love morality systems in games, or at least the concept of them, but I don't think they've a truly good implementation. The choice always seems to come down to being a goody two shoes who does everything for everyone or a piece of crap who kills people for no reason other than for kicks. Nowhere is this more apparent than in Bioware games. Some of the decisions in Mass Effect 2 were really interesting and had a lot of moral weight to them but were completely nulled by reducing the choice to a "good" or "bad" decision. While I'm not saying that this system is bad, I'm saying that it could be better.

I haven't played Epic Mickey yet, but the morality system leans in a direction that I like, making it a choice between doing it easy and doing it right, but I still think that it could be better. It still keeps the choices and black and white, and while that can be expected from a Disney game it just doesn't seem like we've reached something truly grand in the space of gaming morality.

I think the real key factor when it comes to gaming morality is making choices that don't make everything better by picking the "good" option. Using paint makes things harder to pull off but it still results in a pat on the back from the game in every way. You can keep the choices black and white but make the reactions to them more diverse just as they are in real life.

The Paragon option in ME2 is setting up to be the ultimate good ending while the Renegade looks to be the "everyone hates you" ending. The idea behind swapping out the Good and Evil labels for Paragon and Renegade seemed to be to make the choices more interesting but they've been played pretty much exactly the same.

What are your thoughts on how to improve the morality system and do you think that's it's even possible to create a better morality system with current limits on time, resources and technology?

So after I finished Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood last weekend, I found myself wanting to read Machiavelli's "The Prince and the Discourses". Earlier this year, the same thing happened following Deadly Premonition, when I re-watched the entirety of Twin Peaks. Have any of you ever followed up playing a video game with a work that (at least in part) inspired the game?

As a to the core gamer, we are all looking for the "next big thing" with all these sequels comming out this year, where should we look for something diffrent the only new concepts seem to be comming from xbox live arcade or PSN. Will this remain the trend or will we see some actual new disc based games soon. Of course I'm not saying im not looking forward to killzone3 uncharted3 portal2, little big planet2 gears 3.
