So was wondering if I'm alone in this boat? I hate game of the year (goty) additions I get super excited for a game to come out I, pre order it, pick it up at mid night, play it all that night and so on to just have to dish out more cash to get the dlc when it comes out. When I could on the flip just not really care and a year later be like damn that could be fun and get all the dlc for free. Now I understand why they do the multiple story dlc's instead of just making it part of the game, money and the goty addition to try and grab some more ppl that didn't jump on before or ppl who are trading up so they get more profit but shouldn't game publishers have a little more loyalty in the fans that have so much for them. So that if I pre order by a certain date or pay like five bucks more (especially for an rpg or something thats going to have alot). Then when the dlc's come out I can download them for FREE. and enjoy the whole experience that was intended........... Also on the last feedback you brought up the whole I'm not paying as much for this game it must suck argument. Which sorry but I think is a big BS. I mean really how much harder would it be for marketers to just say that this is a full and great game that we decided to give to you our fans at a reasonable price especially if it's backed by a positive review by one of you big shots. Also if I'm not mistaken 2k did it with there sports games. I was getting there basketball game for twenty bucks during the late days of the ps2 while Live was still at full price. Plus it was such a better game for half the price, that actually could be the beginning to Live's or now the late great Elites downfall to 2k sports so plus chew on that I would love (just like everyone else) to see by question on the show you guys do a great job I watch every week and just want to say thank you.

Regarding the future of gaming consoles, I stand in agreement with most of you, in that I'm not actively waiting for the next "big thing." But I'd be lying if I said that thoughts didn't creep their way in sometimes. I think the line between PC & console will eventually cease to exist.

Imagine a "franchise" like Mass Effect no longer having to cram audio onto discs, but instead developing an almost text-to-speech like program that modifies & plays voices according to their own unique specifications; letting you talk to everyone onscreen & create a voice for Shepherd that more closely matches your own & furthermore allowing faster & far more expansive DLC... or even having friends as your Normandy companions & being able to have similar "tree" conversations to build their relationships. (I'll stop myself now.)

And while some of these things may be possible on today's consoles, what types of things do you hope to see from the next generation of consoles & game developers?

DIGG was trending an article from IGN ( http://xbox360.ign.com/article s/114/1144363p1.html ) that posits a lot of interesting reasons for the decline of successful Japanese titles during the Hi-Def gaming era. They specifically cite Vanquish as an attempt by a Japanese development team to sell more copies in western countries and it reminded me of X-Play's review of the title, mentioning the same strange feel the game had, not being satisfactorily western or asian in feel. Is there a rift between Japanese developers and western developers? Have you seen any sign of Japanese developers catching up with current-gen consoles, or will westerners continue gravitating to home consoles while the Japanese audience continues to gravitate to handhelds like the PSP and DS?

With the recent rumor that the PS3 has been successfully "hacked" to a point where only a hardware update could fix it, do you think this could cause Sony to unnecessarily push a PS4 into production if it were true? Also, do you think that even though hacking has been around for quite a while that it could have more of an adverse effect on the gaming industry as it pertains to consoles in the future?

I am a PS3 owner, who is stuck in an odd spot. Mass Effect is coming to the PS3 for the first time. I have played Dragon Age and loved it. However between college, work, and other things I only have time for one RPG at the moment. Should I wait until March and get Dragon Age 2, or should I bite and buy Mass Effect 2? Which one and why?

Why do developers/publishers block copying game saves on to multiple storage devices? Don't consumers have the right to back up their data? More specifically, shouldn't Lionhead Studios or Microsoft release a patch allowing players to back up their game saves on Fable 3. The game is already infamous for players losing their game saves due to bugs and corrupted files.

    Hello Panel of Feedback:

I ve been playing video games most of my life. And the amount of pleasure I get from games varied depending on my age or current interests; however, I find myself more excited for a game depending on something as small as the correct usage of an em dash probably because I m a proofreader. What are the nuance elements/details of a video game that catch your attention?

    Thanks,
    Adriel

I am a long time gamer who feels very confident in the future of the video game industry. So confident, in fact, that i have chosen to invest some of my hard earned money on video game publishers. I have a question for you about which publishers you think will do well in 1-3-5 years. I think Electronic arts has something good with EA partners but are they a smarter buy than activision or take two? is activision the way to go because of Blizzards success with WoW and Call of duty black ops inevitably selling millions of map packs?

These last few days I have been following ps3-hacks.com closely. I have become rather interested in all the new jailbreaks available to the public. I was just wondering if any of you have heard any news from Sony in regards to the new jailbreaks? I have read some news that Sony has issued cease and desist letters to some hackers like failOverflow, but does Sony have any real possible way to stop this and do any of you feel that Sony should stop this at all?

First off I have to give a shout out to Matt Keil for recommending NIER, the ending blew my mind away.

With this comes my question, Whats the one game that you played were after beating it the whole thing just blew you away and left you feeling just wow? Hope everyone had a great break as well and enjoyed themselves.

Plus would love to see t*ts on a bridge, were your just a pair of t*ts bouncing across the bridge, make it a platform. :)

I got a question. How come in your COD Black Ops muiltyplayer review you guys said "thank god this game has no dual-weild shotgun". It does! It's perk 3 I think.

With Onlive making the announcement that they have partnered with Vizio do you feel that they are an actual threat to any of the current videogame markets such as console or PC?

Nintendo recently issued a warning about the 3DS, stating that you should only play for 30 minutes before taking a break. Obviously this warning will be ignored by the biggest part of people who buy the system. Of course you could turn the 3D feature off, but isn't that what the majority of my money paid for, when I bought the system? My main question is do you think concern from parents, about the potential hazard to their child's eyes, will hurt the sale of this system?

With video game graphics rapidly improving, great strides in portraying human characters in video games have been made. I'm looking specifically at games like LA Noire using MotionScan technology to map out facial features. Considering the jumps in portraying people in video games, do you think we will hit the visual equivalent of the uncanny valley in robotics? (The uncanny valley claims that when robots or other imitations look and act almost like actual humans, people have feelings of revulsion) In more succinct terms, do you think video game graphics will ever create characters that are 'too real' for the average person to stand, and as a side question, how would that hypothetical graphic achievement play out in the whole video game industry and the legal issue on violent video games as a whole?

With the Nier Replicant and Gestalt releases in Japan and seeing how they square-enix has catered as hard as they prospectively could to make a new I.P. appeal to us western gamers in such a dramatic way that just frankly failed, Do you think all the talk about the "Death of Japanese Gaming" is just causing a over reaction to appeal to us that something is being lost inherently to the core of the game? Not just the aesthetic changes but now also narrative and core game play mechanics that are the heart and soul of a game. When this happens because the complete artistic intent is lost and muddled (ff13) that creates greater failure because it was trying to be something that it wasn't, simply put a "Poser" of a game.

Yes I am aware of DCUO releasing this week, I had to get back the $5 I spent to pre ordered it. Because I came to the conclusion that if I am to broke to buy the GAME, It'll surely be a challenge to keep up with xtra payments every month with this mmorpg.( No matter how much I would like to.)
Like most gamers the late release of games last year emptied my pockets. I own a Ps3, and I am curious if Playstation is on their last leg???

Do any of you feel the need for a price drop in gaming and new technology? I know that making these things isn't cheap but when the economy is in shambles how much longer can the gaming business and other tech companies hope to survive when their products keep getting more and more expensive? We went from fifty dollars for a game to sixty, thirty for a gameboy advanced game to thirty five - forty for a DS game. And with the coming of the 3DS how much more will consumers be expected to pay? It baffles me that new tech is constantly being put out there with an initial cost that is so painstakingly high that only a fraction of the population can afford to buy it. I just do not see how this cycle can continue to go on with things the way they are and what they are looking to be.

Sorry it is just two questions now. I cut the third. lol

I hope you will answer these three questions

With upcoming titles like Homefront and LA Noire and games that seem to challenge the way we see games . Also title like Bioshock, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain seem to feel more like great novel you get lost in and the growing catalog of interesting indie games is making shopping for title feel more like finding a novel in a bookstore then waiting for the next big DVD. Yet games like Assassin's Creed and Call of duty feel like the next big movie. Do you think the gamer market will mirror the movie market or the Book market as it progresses? Or even better do you think we will have the best of both worlds?

It seems the people over at Microsoft have lacked vision of the future. Apple has come and made themselves the high demand laptop and Desktop OS. Blackberry still holds the mobile business market, and Android and IOS dominate in smartphone sales. With another CES that windows isn't offering a new overlay for tablets. Google has introduced chrome, and Android is everywhere and seems the preferred OS for this new market of devices. What do you think is the future for Windows long-term and short-term?
